Blue Rodeo headlining the Grand Stage Music & Arts Festival

Blue Rodeo will headline the Grand Stage Music and Arts Festival at the Paris Fairgrounds in Paris, ON on July 12, 2008. Other acts on the bill include Matthew Good and His Band, The Sadies and more. The BlueRodeo.com presale for this show will begin tomorrow morning, Wednesday April 23, at 11 am EDT. This is a general admission show and kids under 10 will be admitted for free, so why not bring the whole family?

Blue Rodeo went three for three at the 2008 Juno Awards this past Sunday, taking home the hardware for Group of the Year (for a record-setting fifth time), Adult Alternative Album of the Year (for Small Miracles) and Video of the Year (for "C'Mon"). Congrats to the band!

Third nights added in Belleville and Peterborough

Southern Ontario just can't get enough: due to the extremely high demand, Blue Rodeo have added third nights to their stands in both Belleville and Peterborough. The new Peterborough show is set for May 7, with the new Belleville date scheduled for the following night, May 8.

Blue Rodeo in Kandahar

After wrapping up a successful trip to Austin's SXSW music festival, the members of Blue Rodeo headed to some place very different - Kandahar, Afghanistan. Canada's media has taken quite an interest in the band's trip to entertain our troops. Articles about their adventure to Afghanistan have appeared on CTV.ca, in the Ottawa Sun and by Canadian Press, among other sources. Also along for the trip were chief of defence staff Gen. Rick Hillier, several former NHL players and the Stanley Cup itself.

Blue Rodeo did bring their cameras with them and we're hoping they took some great shots that we'll be able to share with all of you.

Blue Rodeo announce West Coast Tour

The twelve song collection of classic country standards features a number of guests, including Justin Rutledge, David Baxter, Bob Packwood, Jim Cuddy, Greg Keelor, Travis Good, and Lori Yates.

Four more shows announced

It's a big day for Ontario: Blue Rodeo have just confirmed four new shows in the coming months. First up, hot on the heels of their sold-out April 15 gig at Belleville's Empire Theatre, they've added a second show on April 14. The BlueRodeo.com presale begins tomorrow morning at 10:00 am EST.

Next up, on April 16 the band will stop in Brockville, followed by Sudbury on April 18 and Peterborough on May 5. The sales for all three of these shows kick off Monday morning, February 25, at 11:00 am EST, so make sure you're logged in and ready to go at that time!

Blue Rodeo's show at the Empire Theatre in Belleville, ON has finally been confirmed for April 15, 2008. The BlueRodeo.com presale is on now; we've got the best seats in the house for this, on now until next Tuesday, February 19. Don't delay, grab your tickets now!

The second new gig is in Petawawa, ON, at the Petawawa Civic Centre on June 14. This a general admission show, but BlueRodeo.com's presale lets you have the first shot at tickets. Go get them!

Blue Rodeo Receive Three 2008 Juno Award Nominations!

At a press conference this morning, it was announced that Blue Rodeo have been nominated for three Juno Awards, including Group of the Year. The band was also received nods in the Adult Alternative Album of the Year for Small Miracles and Video of the Year for their Christopher Mills directed clip for "C'Mon".

Other nominees include One Degree artists The Sadies (Roots and Traditional Album of the Year: Group), Justin Rutledge, Oh Susanna! (both Roots and Traditional Album of the Years: Solo) and Richard Underhill (Instrumental Album of the Year). Congrats to all!

The Juno Awards will be presented on Sunday April 6 in a ceremony to be broadcast nationally on CTV. Check your local listing for airtimes and make sure you tune in to root for the band!

One of Toronto's finest rock institutions, the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this month, with a series of blockbuster shows. One of countless bands that got their start at the Horseshoe, Blue Rodeo will return to the club's stage next Monday, Decemeber 17 for special celebratory show. Billed as an "80s throwback show," this is sure to be the event of the season.

Tickets go on sale next Monday at 1 pm, only at the venue, with all proceeds from the show will go to the St. Philips Food Bank. Rockin' for a good cause? Don't miss out.

Heads up Toronto fans! The rumours are true; Blue Rodeo will be performing a series of surprise shows in around downtown Toronto tomorrow, Monday, September 24.

We’ve been able to tentatively confirm the following times and locations for you, but keep in mind that times may change as needed.

5:00pm	The Black Bull (Queen & Peter)

Kicking off on January 9 in Vancouver, BC, the tour will see the guys performing in 25 cities including Banff, AB; Saskatoon, SK; Cornwall, ON; Montreal, QC and Moncton, NB before wrapping things up at the end of Febuary with two Toronto shows at Massey Hall.

On Thursday, June 7, Toronto's Lee's Palace saw some of Canada's finest musical talent gather together to play at the NXNE music festival's BBC Radio 2 showcase. Performers included Jim Bryson, Kathleen Edwards and of course Blue Rodeo.

If you wanted to be there but couldn't be, be sure to listen to this week's edition of BBC Radio 2's Bob Harris show as it will be airing highlights from this amazing showcase. Bob's show broadcasts this Saturday, June 9, from 4am - 7am EDT and will be up on his webpage for listening to at your leisure for the next week.

Blue Rodeo at North By Northeast

Blue Rodeo has been added to the BBC Radio 2 Showcase this Thursday, June 7 at Lee's Palace in Toronto. The band's set will be recorded for broadcast on the BBC's Bob Harris Saturday Show.

You'll need a NXNE wristband to get in to the show. Wristbands sell for $28 and can be purchased either at the door or in advance. See NXNE.com for more information.

Congratulations Blue Rodeo! On May 22, the band will receive a fellowship for lasting contribution to the arts from Toronto's Royal Conservatory of Music. The band will receive this award at a special gala where they will perform before other Conservatory members. Previous recipients of this honour include the Tragically Hip, Bruce Cockburn and producer/songwriter David Foster.

On Friday night, Jim picked up the award Adult Alternative Album of the Year, beating such tough competition as Neil Young and Ron Sexsmith.

Every year, the Songwriters' Circle gives ordinary people the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Canada's finest songwriters who share their stories and songs that made them famous during an afternoon concert. This year's Circle also feature Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Colin James and Susan Aglukark and takes place on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the Sid Buckwold Theatre in Saskatoon, SK.

If you already have a Discussion Board account set up, please use its login info to access the Store. All Discussion Board members will automatically have a basic Store account associated with their Discussion Board IDs however, they will need to add in any address or credit card info. If you do not have a Discussion Board account, you will need to create one in order to have a Store account. CBC's "Canada Reads" to Feature Jim Cuddy

CBC Radio's annual "Canada Reads" competition has announced its 2007 reading list and our own Jim Cuddy has been named one of the five all-star panellists. Jim, whose literary selection won "Canada Reads" several years ago, is championing Timothy Taylor's novel Stanley Park.

Jim faces some tough competition from his fellow panellists who include the Barenaked Ladies' Steven Page and who are rooting for such diverse selections as Gabrielle Roy's Governor General awarding-winning Children of My Heart and the Mumbai-based The Song of Kahunsha by Anosh Irani.

Jim and the other panellists will defend their choices starting on February 26 at 11:30am and 7:30pm (half an hour later in Newfoundland) on your local CBC One station. The competition wraps on Friday, March 2, 2007. For more details on "Canada Reads" check out its website.

Wednesday's Jim Cuddy Band show at London's Cowboy's Ranch has been moved to Wednesday, December 6. All other details, including the venue, remain the same.

Thursday night's show in Guelph has been cancelled. This show will not be rescheduled. Ticket purchasers can either refund their tickets at the point of purchase or use them to attend Jim's December 3 show in Kitchener at Centre In The Square. All Guelph tickets will be honoured at face value at the Kitchener show. Tickets may be either exchanged on the night of the Kitchener show or may be exchanged in advance by stopping by the Centre In The Square Box Office.
