Well, it depends what team you're backing, I guess. But, what a race in the east. Man, with six teams juggling spots almost every night.

You're looking at a die-hard Canadiens fan here and the way thing have been stacking up lately, that Mtl-Tor end of season match-up should be something to remember not matter who wins. I mean, I don't recall a race this tight ever in the past. What?  5 or 6 games left each and the results almost always have ripple effects with the bottom four play-off spots on the list?

Don't know  where you hail from BlueBlood, and not to dis the south at all, but my hope is that the cup finds it's way back north. We haven't seen it for over a dozen year's now and last year's final was a heart-breaker to say the least. On the reality side, I pray that whoever does win doesn't get it the way Carolina did last year.

In my opinion, they were basically handed the thing because Brindamour virtually knocked out three of the opposing goalies along the way with little or no punitive action on the leagues part as a result.

Got to admit though, an original six final would be sweet; especially if it was a Mtl-Tor, or Mtl-Boston series bacause those rivalries were full of passion in towns that really know and appreciate the game.

Hey Gobo!  I TOTALLY agree - the Habs/Leafs game at the end of the season will be MENTAL just MENTAL. *Drools*.

BUT I can't exactly agree about the cup coming back north... I mean I DO want it back north but only if it can go to Calgary :)

I'm upset with the Habs and the way they just gave away the game to the Leafs by being very undisciplined!  Oh well! They have nobody else to blame but themselves.  Hockey in Montreal is just not what it used to be... Sad

    Re: Almost time for Playoffs!

I am what you could call a very casual hockey fan.  I only watch during the playoffs... or if my dad's watching and I have no other choice.  haha!  Anyway, we watched the game between Toronto and Montreal the other night... very close!  Then yesterday, we watched the game between NYI and NJ... and that was very exciting... with NJ scoring with .8 seconds left in the 3rd period to tie it up.  I was torn whether to root for NYI or NJ.  I knew that if NJ won, the Leafs would be in the playoffs.... but at the same time, the coach for the NYI used to coach the Moncton Wildcats so I sort of wanted him to get into the playoffs.  Anyway, Toronto it out... because the NYI won the shoot out.  I am ok with that.  Sorry to all of you Toronto fans though!  Better luck next year!

Did anyone watch the Masters yesterday??  (totally off topic I know)

    Re: Almost time for Playoffs!

I'm soooooooo VERY SADSad that Toronto is out. They shouldn't have waited so long to play with heart but they were a hurting team with their players off with injuries and then of course just sometimes playing TERRIBLE. They of course are my favourite teamYes

On Saturday it was super tense in the house when Montreal and Toronto were playing and I was relieved when they won, and I knew that it all depended on another team whether or not Toronto would make the playoffs. Now, that is kind of weird thinking though isn't it?  You have to depend on another team to win in order for you to be in the playoffsSad  Well I love Martin Brodeur and if they would have played him, well then Toronto would have been in the playoffs but of course New Jersey is playing smart and resting their #1 player. It's only because of Martin that the Devils are in if you ask me. He's one of the best goalies around if you ask me. Well and of couse Jean Sebastian and he's in the the family sort of speaking so must give him a nod as wellYesBig Smile

I am very sad for Leaf fans as well.  It just isn't the same without the Leafs in the playoffs...

    HOWEVER

Seeing that neither the Leafs or the Habs are in this year, who will you be cheering for???

Well the Sens CREAMED the Penguins the other night! If they keep playing that way, the cup just might end up in Ottawa this year!!

There were a lot of very tired people in Vancouver yesterday.  The Canucks beat Dallas but not until the end of quadruple overtime.Sleep  The whole city was walking around in a sleep deprived daze yesterday.  Hopefully tonight they can win in a shorter period of time.Yes

Greg Keelor met Jim Cuddy and then I met you people. Serendipity is a marvellous thing.

Way to go Sens....my second favourite team. (after the Habs I mean)

So, I'm right behind you Bluegirl; especially now that they've become Canada's Hope.

Now for the ideal. Presuming they make it to the S.C. finals, who would be you're choice to meet them, and hopefully lose so the Cup can find it's way back home to a place that's never had that honour? Cool
