    Bazil Donovan's cd

I thought I would mention that when I was in Nelson I noticed the merch table was selling a cd by Bazil Donovan. Unfortunately I didn't have enough cash with me to pick it up but will arrange to get it soon. If you're so inclined be sure to bring some extra cash so you can pick it up at a show. It doesn't seem to be in the BR.COM store yet.

Greg Keelor met Jim Cuddy and then I met you people. Serendipity is a marvellous thing.

I've been asking him about it forever and he kept saying just this, just that and now it's here so I will pick it up if I see it at the merch table Big Smile

    How exciting! :o)

I remember hearing Bazil sing on the In Stereovision tour and I thought his voice was amazing! I was very pleasantly surprised, as was my sister. Do you suppose he sings a lot on his CD or is it more bass-oriented? I know nothing, but I'm so curious!

    That's what I'm assuming...

Hazy do you happen to remember how much it was going for?

    Thanks Hazy!

So does anyone else remember hearing Bazil sing? I don't even remember what he sang, but I remember being blown away. Like WOW! Quiet little Bazil! lol

LOL I think I need to explain that comment somewhat: I remember on the Diamond Mine tour (at Centennial Theatre in Lennoxville - THANK YO GUYS for coming to where I lived!) whenever I looked at him he smiled back. I was VERY shy at the time but he was always the one to look away first!

    Re: Bazil Donovan's cd

    Hi Folks!

We bought Baz's CD at the Winnipeg show on Saturday, from the Merch table, it was $20. It's called "Matinee".  Have been listening to it all week. It's pure classic country. We've heard him sing at BR concerts through the years, but now it's nice to have those familiar songs on CD. He sounds great, and of course has a stellar line up of people contributing to this gem....including David Baxter, Burke Carroll, Michelle Josef, Bob Packwood, Justin Rutledge, Jim Cuddy, Greg Keelor, Lori Yates, Travis Good, Damhnait Doyle, as well as other familiar names who are listed in his choir.

The songs are: 1. We Never Touch at All

                          2. Streets of Baltimore

                          3. A Couple More Years

                          4.Little Ole Wine Drinker Me

                          5. She Thinks I Still Care

                          6. Am I That Easy to Forget

                          7.So Good To So Bad

                          8. Just Someone I Used to Know

                          9. Fifteen Years Ago

                         10. Apartment # 9

                         11. I Got Stoned and I Missed I Missed It

                         12. Stage Door

The inside of the cover has a really interesting bio of how he got started, going back to the early '70s etc.

We also bought Luke Doucet's brand new just released CD, which is fantastic.

So, don't hesitate, buy them both, buy them all!  Yes

    Re: Bazil Donovan's cd

    Thanks Bluestar! :o)

I am very excited about Bazil's CD. I hope I can pick it up in Ottawa. I have to really be careful, or I'll spend my grocery money for the whole month that night! lol

I actually heard that they were selling Blue Rodeo canvas bags, too. Has anyone seen them? Are they worth the 15 bucks? I'd love to have one to bring my things to work in : my lunchbag, my files, even my umbrella because even though it was January, I had to use mine this week. Can we all say, freezing rain? :/

But my source said the bags didn't look too hot. What do you all think, those of you who have seen 'em?
