BLUE MOVIES Intro by Our Beloved Greg Keelor

    Gotta love him! :D

PuttPuts, although it was past eleven by the time I finally got in last night, I did not head straight to bed. Despite the lack of a string on my finger, I did remember my promise to you. So, here it is, uncut and unedited, just for you:

Hello Friends. :o) Thank you for including us and our video package into your homes and your families. This package, these songs, these videos were made especially with you, Dear Viewer, in mind. It is a historical once-in-a-lifetime package of all ten of our... our hits, is available available in a limited edition only. We're not sure how many yet, but, you know... (:p!!!) But it is conceivable that eventually this package will be worth way more than what you paid for it originally.

So please sit back, relax, smoke if you got 'em, get yourself a drink and remember: while you're watching this, you're making money.

Love and understanding are the best answers I've heard yet.

That is awesome - thank you so much Eniko!  I'll keep my eyes peeled at all garage sales/second hand stores, in case I find this tape!

What a guy :)  and what a girl you are, to do this for someone you don't even know!  I hope you get lots of good karma as I'm sure you do lots of nice things for others.

    Cheers,

Karen  (and, I like your new Avatar.  Very cool.)

    What can I say? I'm a giver. :o)

    *blushes*

Life has given me many gifts and I am not so selfish as to keep them all for myself. Anything else you need, let me know. :o)

That makes me want to watch Blue Movies now...fortunately I have a copy.

And you can't forget the part before "House of Dreams", which is utterly hilarious. That and the intro to "Till I Am Myself Again." Actually, it's all good. I wish they'd do another video collection like that with ALL their videos! Yes, more witty introductions and goofy nonsense. I'd buy it.

Ahhhhhhhh gotta love the Blue Movies eh??  I get so sentimental when I watch them.  It's so neat to see the guys when they were just starting out... and what a great journey it's been eh?  My favourite video is definitely "House of Dreams".  What a beautiful song that is.  The intros are too cute.  I agree... they should release another package like this with all of their videos... but this time, on DVD of course, with 5.1 surround sound.

What is Blue Movies? I've heard of it befor but Im not sure what it really is. (Would it be like Blue Rodeo in Steriovision?)
Summer Girls they sure are fun, get so Golden in the sun that they could block out any other thought.

Re: BLUE MOVIES Intro by Our Beloved Greg Keelor

Blue Movies is a VHS tape from the early 90s that features all ten of BR's music videos at that time:

    - Outskirts

    - Rebel

    - Love and Understanding

    - Till I Am Myself Again

    - House of Dreams

    - Rose-Coloured Glasses

    - Trust Yourself

    - Try

    - Diamond Mine

    - After the Rain

The videos are strung together with linking bits "written by Greg Keelor" that are really funny. Actually, just seeing them all in the early 90s is funny. "Eek! They're so YOUNG!!!" Stick out tongue Not sure how it compares to Stereovision, having seen that only once, but I should imagine that the two are a bit different.

I have a question about that. I would like to know who that guy is. I kinda got the idea he may have produced some of their other videos and that's what he was getting at, but without knowing for sure I only got a hint of the giggles. One must be educated to fully experience mirth! Would someone enlighten me, please?

What, in the House of Dreams intro? That's Cleave Anderson! The joke is that he doesn't like the HoD video because it was the first one they did after he left the band. At least that's what my mum says. I have no idea where she heard that, so that might not be right. But it's the version *I've* known, so that's what it will be until I'm proven wrong. Stick out tongue

As for Till I Am Myself Again, the special effects guru there is our beloved Jim Cuddy. Wink

Hey there rabbitprincess... I don't think your mom "heard" it anywhere, 'cause I thought the exact same thing!  Cleave doesn't like it 'cause he's not in it LOL!!  It took me a few viewings to finally figure that out.

I just remember her telling me that when I was younger (say, eight or nine years old), so I wasn't sure if she just figured that out, or if it was actually published in an interview or something. She probably did just figure it out on her own, as you did...she likes a good mystery. Wink (She is also good at predicting plot points on shows...like for the CSI shows, she can sometimes have part of the solution figured out before the opening titles! It bugs the heck out of my brother. Stick out tongue)

Re: BLUE MOVIES Intro by Our Beloved Greg Keelor

Boy is my face red! I can't believe I didn't recognize Cleave! Where has my brain been?!

Now, I can't believe it's only 8:30 in the AM and I have to wait until I get home and have another look so I can slap myself upside the head and holler, "D'oh!"

*feels ashamed - feels VERY ashamed* Embarrassed

Re: BLUE MOVIES Intro by Our Beloved Greg Keelor

Well, to be fair, the intros are shot in black and white, and I think that one room where Cleave comes in is rather dark to begin with, so if you didn't recognize him you probably aren't alone.

For the Blue Movies-deprived, here is the scene in question. Some quotes are probably attributed to the wrong people, but that's okay. All the Cleave ones are correct. Wink

    *Enter Cleave*
Band: "Hey! Cleaver!!!" *various hugs and handshakes and high-fives*
    Cleave: "So whatcha doing?"
Greg: "We've got this video hits package that we're watching."
    Cleave: "Which one's up next?"
    Jim (maybe?): "House of Dreams."
    Cleave: *makes face* "Uhhhhh."
Bobby (maybe?): "You don't like that one?"
    Cleave: "Mm, not so great."
Baz: "So what is it you don't like about it? Is it the lighting?"
    Cleave: "No, the lighting's good."
Jim: "Is it the car at the beginning?" [a LeSabre, I do believe]
    Cleave: "It's a fantastic car."
Greg: "Well, Jim's acting sorta bugged me..."
Cleave: "No, for once, I think he did okay."
    Jim: *nods* "Thank you, man."
Mark French: "Maybe it's his hair?"
    Cleave: "No, his hair's okay."
Bobby: "Well I wonder what it could be..."
Cleave: "I dunno, it's missing something."

    Hee hee. Smile

I vote that their next release be on DVD with the subtitle option. ;)

Or, they could just tag everyone like you can on Facebook. :p

Of course, they wouldn't need to tag everyone.Cool

Sorry to go off topic here... rabbitprincess, your Mom sounds like fun!  I love figuring out the plot too, before the ending is revealed, it's fun in movies (not outloud in the movie theatre though).  I love CSI too.
