Re: Does the person below me...
My daughter had to grow a pepper plant for a Family Studies project in grade 11. It was going really well. Till the cat ate it............very upset, tears, drama.......she made me write a note as she was sure they would never believe her. I have a friend who grows green peppers in her garden every year. They are really DTPBM have snow today?? Cause we did...............

Re: Does the person below me...
I don't have a hero per say but I believe many people worthy of admiration. Winston Churchill, Patch Adams, Diane Fossey, Mother Theresa... just off the top of my head. ;) Oh! And my grandmother. :o) DTPBM compost?

Re: Does the person below me...
not intentionally! LOL!!! Ha...no, no gardens...but I have taken to throwing my fruit and veggie scraps out for the raccoons, I know I"m not supposed to feed them, but they'll tear it out of the garbage so I figure I'll save them the trouble. DTPBM have a music player, like an mp3 that they take everywhere?

Re: Does the person below me...
Sadly, no. Last summer I pretty much completed my conversion from tape to CD, as many of my faves were played to death. But I don't even have a DiscMan. Also, my parents were in town this weekend so my dad hooked me up with a new needle for the record player. Dog and Butterfly was swiftly put on the turntable for a spin. :o) DTPBM know Dog and Butterfly? It's a lovely song. (And a darn good record!)

Re: Does the person below me...
I seem to recall that old Heart song. Those chicks could really rock and play it slow.
DTPBM - like to play in the dirt?

Re: Does the person below me...
Actually ya, I even still like the feeling of mud between my toes. DTPBM hate when they purchase stuff on line that they then try and sell you other crap you really don't want....ugh!

Re: Does the person below me...
I LOVE to play in the dirt! (Although, I have whatever the opposite is of a green thumb.) I actually spent over two hours going through my vermiculture dirt to separate out the earthworms to put them back in my composter, and the dirt went in my brother's garden. As my daughter pointed out, I was actually playing in worm-poo. lol I see by your avvie that you finished your marathon? Congrats! DTPBM like Cheap Trick? :o)

Re: Does the person below me...
As a matter of fact, yes I do!! Have for a long time.......a very long time! I had the opportunity to meet them back in the late 70's. I was the Social Convener on student council and I hired them to play for one of our "dances"......back then not too many people did much dancing, swaying maybe, but mostly we just enjoyed watching the band playing and didn't want to miss a thing..........they were a pretty crazy group of young men!! Very nice, funny, they signed their record and pictures for me and my friends. Oh what fun, so thanks for the question, it took me for a stroll down memory lane!! DTPBM always use the same product to wash their clothes with or do you just buy what's on sale?? (Lame, I know but I'm doing the wash!!)

Re: Does the person below me...
Dang blasted, you all jumped me...I had a good question too!!!! Gee thanks guys!! So laundry, well there's about 3 I pick from, prefer Tide the best but its not always the best deal and I'm afraid to venture too much for fear of reactions and such, I always use downey fabric softner, only because anything gives bad reactions to ma family...so that's about it. DTPBM still climb the monkey bars at the playground, and then yell down to everyone, "I'm king of the castle, your the dirty rascal"?

Re: Does the person below me...
No, I don't really climb the monkey bars. My daughter is the one who has callouses on her hand! :p But I do love to swing. :D DTPBM like pancakes?

Re: Does the person below me...
Ha! Well I say give it a try, its fun [SEG] I just tell the kids where my cell phone is in case I fall and need medical attention....LOL!!!! I do like pancakes, but when I eat them, my heart starts racing...and I feel like I can't breathe real well. I have no idea why that happens, if I eat anything too starchy too early, that will happen to me, but pancakes do that no matter what time of day it is, maybe they spike my blood sugar too high, its odd! DTPBM no how to pack light? I need to learn

Re: Does the person below me...
No, I don't believe cell phones are a must. That being said, I have a cell phone, but no land-line. It's just easier this way, since I have three kids and want to be available in case of emergencies, esp. since I'm pretty much the only one to call, besides my brother and sister who aren't always reachable. Also, I didn't have an address when I got the phone so I needed a cell while job/apartment/daycare-hunting. ;) DTPBM have any suggestions for a cheap week's worth of activities this summer (late August)? 'Cause I just got an e-mail saying that the cottage I was going to rent would be renovated this summer so they won't be renting out it this year. I was thinking maybe a little road trip. I think the kids might get a kick out of visiting an Amish community...
