Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Looks like I got a pretty sub-par team, only real bright spots are A-Rod and Michael Bradley, oh well, we shall see!

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Yeah, I'm not particularly overly impressed with my team, either - the bright spot being ex-Jay Carlos Delgado. Unfortunately, speaking of the Jays, I got lumbered with Eric Hinske as well.

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Hey BED, I just proposed a trade to you, I wouldn't mind taking Henske off your hands, I got a vibe that he'll do good this year. If you want somebody different from what I offered, let me know!

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Sounds good to me, Rum Geoff! I know, he's one of those players that might have a good year, but because the Jays picked up Koskie to play third this year and moved Hinske to first base - and since I've already got Carlos Delgado to fill that position - I probably don't have any real use for Hinske, so he's yours! (as long as nobody in the league objects, of course! )

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Did you guys check out my pitching staff: Big Unit, Roger Clemens, Halladay, Mulder, Boomer Wells. The bats aren't great, but there's Slammin Sammy and Jermaine Dye. Not a bad group.

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Thanks BED! Geez, Joe, you got a fair shake of the deal! Makes my team that much more no-name, if it wasn't for A-Rod! If he gets hurt I'm screwed! That's ok though, just like the NFL Patriots, maybe these one's can win it all!

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Hey Rummy, I just got back from a week in Fr. Myers. It's where the BoSox train, so there are Boston fans all over the place...some spend the entire month of spring training there. It's also a Patriots hotbed too..lots of stuff in the stores. It's a great year to be a New England sports fan, isn't it?

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Play Ball! I don't know what the weather's like in NYC, but here in Stratford it's snowing and blowing like a mid-Winter storm. Damn! Hopefully the game will be played tonight: Boomer vs Big Unit. It should be a great one to open the season. Good luck with your teams, guys. Hope your players stay healthy and ;you enjoy the season. Commish: Stratford Blackswans

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
One of the teams offered me Barry Bonds as part of a 2 player deal, it was tempting but I didn't want to give up Garcipara and who knows if Bonds will play this year at all. I think the guy is starting to crack mentally....

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Smart move, Rum Geoff. Whoever made the trade offer was probably in panic mode, realizing they had Barry Bonds, who won't likely even make it till at the very least, mid-season (if even that). As effective as a healthy Bonds can be, it simply isn't worth it to trade away someone who can do some damage now in favour of someone who won't even be around till later.

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
Hey Rummy,
There is still a game to be played tonight, so I don't think those standings are firm. Hey man, it's a marathon, not a sprint, so there's a long way to go yet. I know the first week is always exciting. Good luck the rest of the way.

Re: Internet Fantasy Baseball
I took my daughter to the Jays-Bosox game Saturday; lots of dingers, lots of fun. The new grass looks good out there, and plays good, too.
There are a lot of unknown commodities on that Jay's staff. Lilly looked good today, anyway. I think the Jays can hit, but can they pitch?
