    Wes:

Hank Williams definitely for me.  The stuff he wrote was amazing, and with only a few chords, which is nice cause it makes it easier to play.

Waylon Jennings was great too.  And to think he almost went out with Buddy Holly, what luck to have lived another 4 decades.

Actually Wes, Waylon almost went out INSTEAD of Buddy Holly! He was supposed to get on the plane that day, but gave his seat to Buddy instead. True story... Here are part of the lyrics from "A Long Time Ago" where he talks about the sad event. Sad

"Don't ask me about the years I spent out in the rain
About the ones I spent in love or the ones I spent insane
Don't ask me who I gave my seat to on that plane
    I think you already know
I told you that a long time ago"

Thanks for the correction.  I heard that Holly said to Waylon "I hope your bus crashes." as a joke and Waylon replied "Yeah and I hope your plane crashes".  Can you imagine how bad that must have felt when that plane did go down.

I think I'll check out that song now, im surprised I havent heard it.

Here you go, Wes! Some awesome concert footage when Waylon was in his prime! Aw, man... I could just cry when I watch his videos and realize that I'll never see this legend perform live. They just don't make 'em like this anymore.
