    Re: OT 24/7

I get an extra day off this week cuz they don't pay for more than 5 days a week where I work, so the stat doesn't mean I get more pay, I just get an extra day off.  I don't really mind, I just wish they would have put them 3 days in a row so I could enjoy it.  The way they did it is that I got my usual 2 days off, worked one, now have another day off.  The least they could have done was split the 4 days I work this week in half and put the break in the middle.  sheesh!Confused

Oh, to have a dependable babysitter!

An actual no-show last night. Makes ya wonder if she's responsible enough for me to leave the kids with...

    *sigh*

I have a cellphone now...and by "cellphone" I don't mean that I got two cans and tied them together with string (yeah, I know it took me long enough to switch from dialup internet to highspeed!)...so yeah, this "Brown-Eyed-Dog" is learning some new tricks...hehehe!

In the ongoing saga of "Brown Eyed Dog discovers 21st century technology", I now have a laptop...wheeeeeeeeeeee!!!

    Re: OT 24/7

I discovered a new band last night, The Sunparlour Players.

Here are the lyrics to my fave (so far I have only heard three) of their songs, copied and pasted from the net for your reading pleasure. Enjoy. e76

    IF THE CREEKS DON'T RISE

    Rise, rise and shine
    Shoes on again, it's time
You're working today, gonna have to pitch in while it's light
If the creeks don't rise, I hope to see tomorrow all right

Watch my father's hands plant some seeds again
Hear my mother call the helpers in
If the creeks don't rise, we'll work 'til the light gets dim
And if the creeks don't rise, we'll work 'til the light gets dim

The helpers starts to feel sick
The helpers think it's a trick, but
They keep working hard, to send a little money back home
Because in Mexico is where their family seeds are sown
But, now the Sun Parlour is where they call their home

Smell that water coming across the field
    I wanta get some
I wanna get in the way of that great big old irrigation gun
    Call all your friends
Tell your parents, they too can attend
Come on farmers, come on trees
Feel that coolness in the breeze

Because if the creeks don't rise, we're gonna have a time
Because if the creeks don't rise, we're gonna have a
    We're gonna have a time

    Night is coming in
All of the fields, they are empty as
We sit down to eat and I wrestle my Dad to the ground
With so much fun around, you can't even hear the sound

    Rise, rise and shine
    Shoes on again, it's time
My brother and I hear a sound
    It sounds like a roar
The creeks have risen, risen like never before

The creeks have risen like they've done before

I finished three books in two days. I love being productive on the reading-for-pleasure front. Big Smile

(Of course, I usually have about five or six books on the go at once, so sometimes I've been working on them for a while...)

I bought a Michelina's Advantage fettucine alfredo chicken bowl, it was disgusting! Ick!  Not to mention the fact that there was only like 6 little chunks of chicken in it. No

    Re: OT 24/7

    Hi All!

Just wanted to share this great group I discovered last Thursday at the FUSE taping with my BR buds. :o)

It was love at first listen! They are now on my list of favourite bands. I'm so gung-ho, I went to Wakefield two nights in a row to get more. Pïcked up their CD. Got their autographs, pictures, the whole deal. Great music and a nice bunch of guys to boot. :o)

They are The Sunparlour Players and I hope you will go have a listen:

    Take care,

    Enikô :o)

*EDIT* Forgot to mention that I am equally excited about the guy who opened for them on Friday: Old Man Luedecke. (sp?) Look him up too!

    Re: OT 24/7

I saw the strangest car today on my way home from work.  I'm not sure what it was, possibly a Ferrari or something like that, but it was so low to the ground the guy driving had to have been practically laying down to drive it.  The top of the cab was barely higher than the hood and when I passed it, the whole thing was about the same level as the hood of my car.  I can't imagine why anyone would want a car like that.  A sardine tin on wheels.
