Sadly I have given up ever having the board back to normal. Infopop doesn't seem to be able or willing to fix the things we have complained about.

I see that too Torri, that's a shame. I hope things get fixed so that we can enjoy the perks of having you online as well as all the other regulars that aren't posting as much----which include Lori as well. Actually come to think of it, there are more but too many to mention. Well don't give up cause I look forward to reading your posts.

I hear you Torri, not only is the board s l o w, but that time things really gets to me as well!! Quite often at midnite is when things finally quiet down here and I'd love to got on the DB, but I usually can't sign on!!

deboraht, you will just have to inform your family that it's backwards day and they have to reverse their schedule. That way it's slower in the daytime for you so that you can post then instead of midnight That's one way to get around this problem

Well I suppose I could try that but we all know how accommodating my kids are!!!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for hanging in there with us, we know how frustrating this has been! We have escalated these issues with InfoPop and would appreciate your feedback so we can hopefully get this resolved once and for all. These are the issues that we have raised to them...

1) The 'New since last visit', 'Today's Active Topics', and 'Search Since Yesterday' turn up an error message stating 'Search is currently unavailable'. Users have to go through each forum one by one to see the new posts. When these are 'working' it only turns up sporadic posts and does not carry out the entire function.

For those of you that have been experiencing the error message, have you noticed it occuring at a particular time in the day or does it appear to be more randon?

2) The 'Find' function is turning up the same error message 'Search is currently unavailable'. Again when this is 'working' it only turns up sporadic posts and does not carry out the entire function.

They have asked if you guys have been experiencing this problem during the 11 PM - 12 AM PST when InfoPop does their server backups or if the problem persists at other times.

3) 11 PM - 12 AM PST is when InfoPop does their server backups, so things are generally slower at that time. Users are finding it inaccessible during this period. The western users are frustrated as this is at a time they frequently use the Discussion Board. They requested that the backups be done 1:00 or 1:30 AM PST.

For those who try to use the Discussion Board during these hours are you able to login at all? If you are not able to, what kind of error message are you receiving?

Please feel free to elaborate on the problems you have encountered and we will pass all of the information along. We have raised a few other issues with them such as the delay of posts appearing on the homepage, but if you are experiencing any other issues that we have not addressed yet, please let us know.

This isn't working right now as I type!! I haven't noticed and spacific time on this its fairly speratic. But search since yesterday and active topics hasn't worked for a long time.

There has been problems with searching for quite some time as well, I thought maybe it was just me and the things I was searching for but I guess not.

I usually don't sit and wait for it long, but there have been times where I will open and move on to another window and do something else while its loading. I would say this could take as long as 5min or more. Alot of times it will just time out and show an error.I'm not sure what error message it is that I receive but it is on the site. If I get a chance I will try it out again tonight

Another thing that is a real frustrating problem is that new posts are not showing up right away. I use to be able to go back to new since last and refresh and everthing that had just been posted would show up. Now it seems to take some time before these new posts will show. And most the time I have to leave the site and come back later to get the new posts.

Another interesting thing that happened the othernight when I logged in, just before 11pm, the first page showed a new post by Hazy, I didn't open it and read it cause I wanted to skim through the other pages of posts before my time was up and couldn't get into anything. So when I went to go back to this post and read it, it disappeared all together. It didn't reappear again for me till the next morning. Hmmm wonder whats up with that, and how often that happens??

Just for the record "New since Last" is working now, but not bringing up the most recent posts.

I am so glad to hear these problems are being addressed. I don't have time now to post my experiences/problems but will do so on the weekend. Please bring back our old friendly board.
