Glad to see you're citing such reliable sources. Confused

All I will say is that you're lucky I'm not an administrator here, because I would have banned your sorry trolling arse a long time ago. You've been a member here for close to 3 years and have yet to contribute anything worthwhile or positive to this community.

    How's that for free-speech? Smile

    PLEASE STOP!!

Johnny, you may have your view points, but arguing in this thread is very distasteful and disrepectful to the soldier who started it.  I cringe when I think of that soldier coming back to this thread to see what support he has garnered for his CANCON concert and having to read this crap.

Re: Support the troops, CanCon in Afghanistan!!

Okay, I hear you about Vietnam, that the soldiers themselves stopped supporting that fight at some point, but I have provided what I believe is at least some proof from a Canadian soldier who speaks from the heart about his situation in his conflict. I can't really speak about the Iraqian thing, the way our friends to the south can, because we are not there and Bruce is speaking, at least in his mind, for them, not Canucks.

But anyway, I'll say it again, I don't mind controversy and as people here well know, I'm no stranger to debate, but this thread was started by a soldier asking for help and/or information about BR... period.

So, if you want to defend your position, then do so if you wish, just not in this particular thread because whatever you think about the situation, these fellows have enough real fighting and dying to contend with over there. Hence, I suspect they are not anxious to get into philosophical debates about war and peace.

To be or not to be is NOT the question!

Rather, is it your will to be here, or to be elsewhere?

    Hey Canadian Soldier,

Hope you are well. Sorry to report that the idea that I had didn't work out. I am sure my friend would help if they could. There must be a very good reason.

    ACanadianSoldier:

    Hello,

I'm a Canadian soldier currently serving in Kandahar Afghanistan.  I love to listen to Blue Rodeo when away from home, cause it makes me feel at home along with alot of other Canadians here with me.  Once every tour a concert is held in Kandahar Air Field where mostly all the colation forces troops call "home".  This concert is called CanCon, it's normally comprised of a Canadian band who plays for the night giving us troops some time to kick back and relax while listening to some great Canadian music.  I thought for this tour Blue Rodeo could come and play in Afghanistan because they are Canadian and they are great song artists.  The best I could do is put the word out and eventually(hopefully) get a hold of someone who may have some ties with Blue Rodeo, so I can get the ball rolling.  I want to know if anyone has any idea's on who I can talk to or how else to make this known?  Thank you alot for any replys!

    One of your own,

    Cpl. D.

Hey there Cpl. D.... I hope this post finds you in good health.  You are going to get your wish, Blue Rodeo will be heading to Afghanistan in March 2008.  See this thread http://www.bluerodeo.com/forums/324900/ShowThread.aspx#324900
