    Re: Top Albums of '07!

Although it was little rough in spots, I feel that what emerged from the posts up above was a good discussion about peoples' personal tastes in music. I'm learning not to be so quick to judge other folks' musical preferences and I admit that I haven't listened to alot of what's new out there today so I will continue to take a further look at the bands first mentioned such as Hedley, Three Days Grace and Billy Talent, among others in 2008.

My Best of list for 2007...please don't make it your Best of list! Just my opinion and by no means definitive or authoritative...heck it could change by next week since it is after all as Ray Davies sang, "only jukebox music".

    1. Revival - John Fogerty

    2. It's Not Big It's Large - Lyle Lovett

    3. Sweet Warrior - Richard Thompson

    4. Magic - Bruce Springsteen

    5. West - Lucinda Williams

    6. Small Miracles - Blue Rodeo

    7. New Seasons - The Sadies

    8. The Reminder - Feist

    9. Short Stories - Oh Susanna

    10. Washington Square Serenede - Steve Earle

    Bluegirl:

Glad to see you finally got "Short Stories", Diane! :)

*Edit - Disregard my post above and don't mind me. I must've forgotten to take my meds today. Stick out tongue I was thinking of Sammie for some reason.

I'm confused, but glad to see I'm being thought of! Big Smile

I love Short Stories, too! (Thank you, Lori!)

Now I guess I should make my list!

In no particular order & not necessarily complete:

Jimmy Rankin - Edge of Day

    Oh Susannah - Short Stories

Joe Forster - Black Ribbon of Hope

Brock Zeman - The Bourbon Sessions

    Blue Rodeo - Small Miracles

I'd have to agree with you on that one, Peter! After all, isn't arguing just another way of discussing things? No hard feelings, eh! lol. Wink And I hope I didn't or don't get too offensive at points.

Just a quick note to everyone, it doesn't really matter what order you put your lists in 'cause I can't keep track of exactly what is where, just how many times it's been mentioned.

I appreciate the response so far and would have to admit that I didn't really expect it... Yes

    Re: Top Albums of '07!

    My 5 favourites have been:

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising sand

Mary Chapin Carpenter - The calling

Chuck Prophet - Soap and water

    Ryan Adams - Easy tiger

    Lucinda Williams - West

I haven't had Small Miracles long enough to make a judgement. It only arrived a couple of days before Xmas. I'm not sure which one it could displace.

Well I can only think of 3 Embarrassed  and they are:

    New Season - The Sadies

    Small Miracles - Blue Rodeo

The Light That Guides You Home - Jim Cuddy Band

But then, I guess that's all I've been listening to lately---but I would have to give it some deeper thought if I was to come up with some more albums

Seeing that a few people mentioned Raising Sand as one of their top c.d.'s of 2007, I decided to get it last week and you know what?  I just love it!! Thanks to all those who put it on their list! Yes

I love Alison Krauss, but I had somehow never heard of the CD until this thread. I'm guessing I should be getting it too!

    Re: Top Albums of '07!

    Definitely.

When I first saw it at the store I found it to be a bit odd.  Robert Plant and Alison Krauss seemed to be quite an odd duo to put together for an album but it turned out to be quite amazing.
