Greg and Cuff the Duke's show will be repeating this summer, as well as the one with Julian Fauth and Melissa & Luke. But there's some sad news about FUSE....read on from the newsletter:
Hello Fuse Fans,
We wanted you to know that Fuse will air its final broadcast on CBC
Radio One on August 30. We here at Fuse know you're all music lovers, so
we encourage you to check out some of the new programming coming out
this fall on CBC Radio 2. Live performances can be found on shows like
Canada Live (every night at 8pm, 8:30 NT) and the new afternoon show by
Rich Terfry (aka Buck 65 - from 3-6pm, 3:30 NT). With the launch of the
new Radio 2 this fall the musicians you have come to enjoy hearing from
us will continue to be heard on programs like Canada Live as well as on
the new programs.
We have had four fantastic seasons of some amazing collaborations, and
we're pretty proud of both the musicians who participated and the
episodes that resulted. And we owe a huge debt to you - our listeners
and live-taping attendees, who showed incredible enthusiasm for the show
right from the start. Thanks so much for clapping & cheering us on.
We have four more tapings up our sleeves before we say goodbye. If you
just happen to be in Dawson City for their incredible music festival
from July 17 - 20, Fuse will be there to tape two episodes, one
featuring Basia Bulat & The Done Gone String Band, and another featuring
Vancouver hip-hoppers Threat From Outer Space with Brandon Isaak's
Whitehorse Blues Allstars.
On August 9, Amanda will be back in her beloved Regina to tape an
episode at the Regina Folk Festival, featuring hometown group Oyé Fusing
with Vancouver's Choir Practice.
And finally, we'll be back in our hometown (that would be Ottawa) for
one final Fuse in Studio 40, featuring Ottawa's Finest Kind with
London's Kat Burns & The Forest City Lovers. We'll send out more
information about this taping once we're ready to start accepting ticket
requests. Please do not request tickets now - we'll let you know as soon
as you can.
Finally, here's how the Fuse summer broadcast schedule is shaping up:
--June 28: Two Hours Traffic, Ruth Minnikin & Old Man Luedecke
--July 5: Julian Fauth, Luke Doucet & Melissa McClelland

Believe in me, I don't want to anymore
And in the dark, picture me in your mind
And I'll lay with you
You don't have to be scared at night"
