Re: Greg & Cuff the Duke on FUSE online

It is indeed very entertaining! And this episode holds a special place in my heart (and in my cassette player since I taped it off the radio!) since I was sitting right in the first row, in front of Greg. :D:D:D The shirt he is wearing in my avvie is actually the same one he wore that night. :o)

You all go and enjoy the listen, all right? :o)

Love and understanding are the best answers I've heard yet.

Thanks Eniko, that was a real treat.   Especially since I missed it when it aired on the radio.

Re: Greg & Cuff the Duke on FUSE online

Greg and Cuff the Duke's show will be repeating this summer, as well as the one with Julian Fauth and Melissa & Luke. But there's some sad news about FUSE....read on from the newsletter:

    Hello Fuse Fans,

We wanted you to know that Fuse will air its final broadcast on CBC
Radio One on August 30. We here at Fuse know you're all music lovers, so
we encourage you to check out some of the new programming coming out
this fall on CBC Radio 2.  Live performances can be found on shows like
Canada Live (every night at 8pm, 8:30 NT) and the new afternoon show by
Rich Terfry (aka Buck 65 - from 3-6pm, 3:30 NT). With the launch of the
new Radio 2 this fall the musicians you have come to enjoy hearing from
us will continue to be heard on programs like Canada Live as well as on
    the new programs.

We have had four fantastic seasons of some amazing collaborations, and
we're pretty proud of both the musicians who participated and the
episodes that resulted. And we owe a huge debt to you - our listeners
and live-taping attendees, who showed incredible enthusiasm for the show
right from the start. Thanks so much for clapping & cheering us on.

We have four more tapings up our sleeves before we say goodbye. If you
just happen to be in Dawson City for their incredible music festival
from July 17 - 20, Fuse will be there to tape two episodes, one
featuring Basia Bulat & The Done Gone String Band, and another featuring
Vancouver hip-hoppers Threat From Outer Space with Brandon Isaak's
    Whitehorse Blues Allstars.

On August 9, Amanda will be back in her beloved Regina to tape an
episode at the Regina Folk Festival, featuring hometown group Oyé Fusing
    with Vancouver's Choir Practice.

And finally, we'll be back in our hometown (that would be Ottawa) for
one final Fuse in Studio 40, featuring Ottawa's Finest Kind with
London's Kat Burns & The Forest City Lovers. We'll send out more
information about this taping once we're ready to start accepting ticket
requests. Please do not request tickets now - we'll let you know as soon
    as you can.

Finally, here's how the Fuse summer broadcast schedule is shaping up:

--June 28: Two Hours Traffic, Ruth Minnikin & Old Man Luedecke

--July 5: Julian Fauth, Luke Doucet & Melissa McClelland

--July 12: Katie Stelmanis & Fred Eaglesmith

--July 19: Laura Barrett & The Hylozoists

--July 26: Greg Keelor & Cuff The Duke

--Aug 2: Sunparlour Players & Voices of Praise Gospel Group

--Aug 9: Brandon Isaak & Threat From Outer Space

--Aug 16: Basia Bulat & Done Gone String Band

--Aug 23: Choir Practice & Oye

--Aug 30: Finest Kind & Forest City Lovers

Also, be sure to check out the "audio" section of our web site (
http://www.cbc.ca/fuse/audio.html ), where we are posting past
episodes for your web-listening pleasure. We promise to get as many
episodes up there as we can in the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks again for your support!

Re: Greg & Cuff the Duke on FUSE online

I am SO sad that Fuse is ending.  It was such a fabulous showcase for Canadian talent.  I tried to listen every week & I can't think of one single episode I didn't enjoy.   Thanks for letting us know RP.  It's nice to know they are re-airing the Greg &CTD episode.

It is indeed sad, and quite unexpected! I hope they can at least let the episodes live on through online streaming.

Re: Greg & Cuff the Duke on FUSE online

I have only been going to tapings since January of this year, but all the ones I have attended were memorable, and I do love listening in on the radio too, when I get a chance. I hope all the episodes will be available online. I missed some really good ones!

On a sidenote, I really enjoyed this week's show featuring Old Man Luedecke. I was pleasantly surprised to him him sing Little Bird on the radio when I got into the car to taxi some diapers over to ex's place. lol What a treat! I have loved OLM since I saw him at the Black Sheep. :o)

Wonder what Amanda will be up to in the future?
