Bluegirl: mikeandlisa: How much were tickets last year?
Seems theyre at least $10 more each. Malkin bowl capacity is 1500. At $10 more each thats $15000 in extra revenue. I know gas is ridiculous but I dont think it's gone up THAT much for one trip. 
I find them expensive too, but I just checked and the Molson Amp tix are $91.25!! Holy crap! That's crazy! 
Well, I don't know why the Amp tickets are so much, but I can easily believe that the Malkin costs are way up.
I did wonder last year just how the Malkin shows are done, logistically. The band was playing in Ontario right before them, so either they flew their gear out, they had a duplicate set to send on ahead, or they rented a lot of stuff in Vancouver. If they have to fly an entire crew and even just their personal gear out, the rise in airfares alone might account for thousands in added costs. I also suspect that costs associated with the venue are up. The Bowl is a civic facility and the city settled a strike last year, so wage costs are probably up. Fifteen thousand extra may not be that much, when you think about it.
