Man, I love getting a Blue Rodeo surprise on the radio!

Friday evening, doing a bit of shopping and running a few errands, (including some rum!)... so I come out of a store and I'm in a good Friday-night mood, and i turn the key and BANG!, my "friend" the incomparable Greg Keelor is belting out the first verse of "Diamond Mine!

Luckily there was a good tune just before I'd gotten out, so it was up nice and LOUD and ready to go!

Well, I had to go to a couple more places that were in the same area, but did I park and get out NOOOO WAAAY!

    Haha!

I drove around for five minutes cause it just sounded so goooood!  I know we had radio threads here befoer , but anyway for some reason   the same sond just sounds "different", and somehow even "better" when you're treated to it on the radio at just the perfect time....... you're just in the mood

So anyway, what do you think I put on soon as I got back? Haha!  My "Rockin Rodeo" compilation from a few years back - awesome...

"Love and Understanding" right now  YesYes

OK back at that rum!!! No hocket game tonight, so just some good ol' Rock n' Roll, and likely break out a few concert DVDs later

Have a great Weekend, folks! BeerWink

Wow! What a blast -- "Across The Unverse".  Best fun I had watching  a musical film since  about 1977 and "Grease"  Hhaha!  (ok it's also the only one I watched.....)

I t is a blast, but ya' gotta go at it with an open mind, for sure.

I'm serious though, it truly is a good show.

Joe Cocker on "Come Together" is worth watching the whole darn thing for... not to mention  Bono's performance of "I Am The Walrus" --- awesome both...

I give the movie  a good old 2 thumbs up, but you gotta like the music first (or be open to liking it if you're younger) and ya gotta opern your mind a little first.... Big Smile haha   Worth renting or buying

Ok this is a little off my original topic Haha!, so anyway, yeah ...and I also heard "Trust Yourself" last week -- did they even play that one on the radio back when?

rofl! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that... I'll be at home and not feel like listening to a certain song but if it comes on the radio in the car first thought is to turn it up! I wonder why...

Looks like someone was into the Appleton rum last night and a little something else maybe.  haha!  That was funny to read Larry.  It's kind of a coincidence because I was also listening to the Beatles last night... a new double DVD I ordered from Amazon.  It's a video collection... has over 4 hours worth of music, AND it's in DTS and 5.1 surround sound.  It was produced in Brazil somewhere.  There is some pretty rare footage on there... but it's kind of weird because it cuts out some of the songs here and there.  Definitely a good find though... I'm glad I decided to get it.  Oh and yeah... "Across the Universe" was brilliant eh!!  I loved it too.

Haha! Yes I was havin' a little bit o' fun for sure Allison! Big Smile

I've seen that Beatles double DVD around - looks good - a LOT of footage!

Yabuluu... it's interesting why driving and good music go together so well - must have something to do with being in motion.  Nice being "wrapped around" in a cocoon of sound too I guess... Music+Automobile= Party!!! Haha!

That makes sense... I also find that the motion of cars puts me to sleep easier than trying to sleep in a bed... lol

I know what you mean. The local "adult contemporary" station has started playing HHMY amongst others songs on other stations. I love these surprises.
