How does one without anything to trade get a hold of such things? Frown

    Hey Starkey (and everyone),

If you do not have any shows to trade, traders such as myself generally do one of two common trading practices in this case: a B&P or 2:1 trade.

    1. B&P stands for "blanks & postage", and it requires you to send the necessary number of blank discs and return postage. I will burn the shows you're interested in and simply send them back with the postage provided.

    2. A 2:1 trade is more common when I trade with non-Canadian traders when return postage becomes an issue. In this case, if you want a few shows that equal 6 CDs for example, then you would send me 12 CDs, I would burn the shows on half of them, then send them back to you with me paying for postage on my end.

The only real difference between the two methods is that one includes return postage and the other includes twice as many discs to compensate for the return postage. As a rule due to time and other things happenin' in life, I only take on a few shows at most for a B&P or 2:1 trade.

But that's generally how it works when one is starting out in this hobby. The key that makes this hobby great is that nothing is sold, no money is involved, just 100% about sharing the music among fans! loud

If anybody is interested, feel free to send me a PM.

Re: Announcing ... Blue Rodeo Concert Trading Network (BR-CTN)

I've not had any luck so far with this, so I'm still up for trading from my list for any BR shows.

As my address says, I'm in the UK, so if you don't mind long distance (and transatlantic is probably about the same as the distance across Canada or the US) and you're interested, let me know.

    Another show available by request:

    BR @ Oshawa, ON 10/22/05

So far it is the only "Are You Ready" show out there (unless you include Stratford 1/14/05).

    Cheers,

It's my pleasure Dayna! As long as BR is okay that there are audience-recorded shows of theirs out there that fans are freely sharing and enjoying, then it's all good! thumbup

Re: Announcing ... Blue Rodeo Concert Trading Network (BR-CTN)

its nice were doing shows again on here....
What be nice if people who have stuff on tapes or Cds that can not get online and uses BT send it to someone who can.

It be nice to hear or even see early stuff 80's shows or even early 90's.....I myself know a guy that has a show on of all things recorded on his mirco recorder you know the ones I mean for voice notes.....I was at the same show as him...and we had to recorders going....my die and he kept on rolling but he has since miss placed the recorder so I ll have to get one there not that much.....so I ll have a 2003 show soon....

Also converting with prolems the Webcast to DVD its in the works i have a 20 gb mpg on the HD now all i need to is sync the audio its alot f work..but i hope when it s done all will enjoy it here....

If anyone has anything in VHS let me know i have a unknow show that a friend gave me that was tape off TV.....they are in PQ and sing a few song in french.

Thank you again for this shows and keep them coming...a new tour session is on us and for some we can not make it to shows thankfuly some do thank you for taping this shows and others in the year and years to come..

Done and sharing on for others.

Gotta thank you for sharing this - I have just gotten from you, 2 great Blue Rodeo recordings - I thought many times about grabbing and converting that Stardust webcast to audio, and boom, now here it is! I'm stoked to have this show, as a fan of The Days In Between album, it's nice to see some cuts from the album in the setlist for this one.

As for the 03 show, kudos to whoever recorded this one originally - it's a magnificent sounding document of an odd tour, for sure. If you are like me, and aren't the hugest fan of audience recorded shows, you still need to grab this one, because this is one of those really well recorded ones that will make you respect audience recordings....and there are more of them out there then you would think that sound like this...you just have to look past the KISS fans...because they think every KISS show ever recorded sounds A+...but I digress.

The 03 show is nice, not only for the sound, but for great renditions of Love Never Lies, and Fallen From Grace, of all tunes. I've always dug Fallen From Grace, it seems like the secret weapon of Blue Rodeo tunes, that easygoing BR tune that they can slide into playing out of almost any song, and still they catch you by surprise everytime they pull that move.

They are both great, and I thank you for sharing em.

I see an alleged soundboard from 2003 floating around on people's lists.....anybody got THAT to post?

Thanks so much for sharing these shows, Cygnus
