No prob Dayna! This is a great show, especially if you're into the first couple albums. As with most radio broadcasts, I suspect CHOM didn't broadcast the complete show - "Try" and "Rose Coloured Glasses" are notably absent from the recording.

Silly question. I went to the site but I don't know what to do. Am I supposed to save the torrent file to my harddrive? If so, what do I do afterwards to hear it? question question

Kim, here's a brief description that I posted in another thread on bit torrent. Hopefully it will help you out.

First you need to download a bit torrent client (bit torrent, azureus, ABC, etc). Once you have that, go to the link provided, right click on the torrent and select "save target as". Save it in what ever directory you want on your computer.

Go back to where you saved the link and double click to open it. This will open up the bit torrent client and it will start downloading. You'll need to have a bit torrent client before you can start downloading.

The concept behind bit torrent is all about sharing. It starts off with the initial seeder and as the "leechers" (people who want to download the show) start downloading, they are also sharing (uploading) as well. What happens with bit torrent is that not only are you getting parts of the show from the initial seeder, but you will also receive parts of the show from the other leechers. It's much faster than just having 1 seeder supply a complete copy to each person who wants it. Your download will go fast or slow depending on a number of things:

    1) whether you have high speed or dial-up
    2) how many "seeders" there are
    3) the maximum download speed set by your ISP

If you aren't able to leave your computer on in order to finish downloading the complete show, you can always close it and come back to it later. You just need to reopen the torrent file and it will recognize which pieces you already have and which pieces you still need to complete the download.

Once the show is fully downloaded, then you'll need FLAC to convert the flac files to WAV files which can then be burned to CD. The great thing about FLAC is that it is a lossless compression tool unlike MP3 which is a lossy compression tool. You can download a copy of FLAC from this website: FLAC

Since bit torrent is all about sharing, the nice thing to do is to leave your torrent "window" open after you've completed the download so that others are able to get the show from you as well.

For anyone interested, I've posted the Austin City Limits show on my website. You can download it at www.stratomaster.ca/austincitylimits/austincitylimits.html

I didn't put it up a torrent on either of the sites b/c until a few minutes ago I didn't know how to. So, grab it from my site. It will be up for a week.

Too Bad 'Try' was not available. There was this maniac who screamed out REALLY loud as the first strum...Oh yeah, that was me, and my children were at home listening to it live and heard me. Aw, the memories... love

Re: Announcing ... Blue Rodeo Concert Trading Network (BR-CTN)

Good question! I am assuming it's the original band, but then again, I don't know when Cleave Anderson left and Mark French joined. We know Cleave is on the Diamond Mine album, but we also know thanks to Stereovision, that Mark played on some of the Diamond Mine tour (he is in the September 18, 1989 "House of Dreams" footage). My memory escapes me – which drummer plays on "Crying Over You" from the Diamond Club May 26, 1989? If it's Cleave, then we know 100% that it was Cleave in Montréal a couple months earlier. If it's Mark, then the jury's still out I guess.
