Hi -
As some of you may know, there's been a small grassroots effort underway to launch a community for trading, sharing, and discussing unofficial live recordings of Blue Rodeo. Starting today, the Blue Rodeo Concert Trading Network (BR-CTN) will provide a fan-driven forum for distributing the band's considerable amount of unreleased concerts, radio interviews, and other rarities. We're not a replacement for this site ... just an outlet for fans wanting to take their passion in a new direction.
Importantly, this is a forum for fans who love the band, not a forum for profit. If you're like most fans here, you've long since bought all the band's albums, seen their concerts every time they come close to you, and bought all the gear you can possibly wear. When we approached Jim after last week's show in Northampton, he understood where we were coming from and gave us his blessing to get started. He even indicated that they had taped that night's show for exactly this type of distribution!
Since we're inventing this as we go along, we want lots of you to get involved! Visit our site on Yahoo! groups, sign up to get our emails, and drop us a note about what you'd like to see us doing. Even better, get in on a trade or dig into your own archive for something worth sharing! If you want to more officially get involved as a co-organizer, we're open to that too.
As an added bonus, we've kicked things off today with a great trade opportunity for the band's 2002 Palace of Gold concert in Ferndale, MI. Look for more trades there soon, including a rare show from Brantford that's emerging for the first time from Dianne's personal collection.
See you soon @ the Blue Rodeo Concert Trading Network --
