Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

I thought I would start a new thread since there will probably be a lot of interest in this show. Apparently this morning it was announced that BR will be playing in Calgary on New Year's Eve. beer Big Grin If anyone has more details let us know.

Greg Keelor met Jim Cuddy and then I met you people. Serendipity is a marvellous thing.

all i know is that they're playing at the new years eve gala at the telus convention centre and tickets are $75 (go on sale this saturday). i've had friends that have gone to this before (it's an annual event) and i think it's a dress up affair and it includes dinner and stuff. i'm not sure though... Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

i think it's pretty fun! it just kind of depends on how you like to spend your new years i guess. it's also called the black and white ball or gala (i think) so it's fancy dresses and suits/tuxes. you get a sit down dinner and a glass of champagne at midnight then there is a cash bar all evening.

so what i am wondering is, is blue rodeo going to be playing all night as "background music" (how that could happen i have no idea!!!hahaha) or are they just going to play a set somewhere in the evening.

in the past it has been mostly dj's.

The fancy New Year's deal is not really my thing Pants but seeing Blue Rodeo certainly is my sort of thing. Big Grin I can't really imagine them at such a formal gig - makes me kind of giggle to think about it.

I'm so happy for you guys! I'm sure it'll be a fun time. I'm not big into having to dress up for events either, but you'll want to be in something you can at least dance in!!

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

We are going to be making a call to the convention center later today and get the whole scoop on dress code and how many tickets there will be.

I sure hope its not Tux and gown cause I don't do gown. I do have sparkles on my BR t-shirt though, wonder if that will pass for formal question

That means I don't really have to wear my stupid strappy heels that gouge into my feet within 30 seconds of putting them on. I can go with something else....

I can't wait for the "reunion". now. It makes me want to pick up a large keg of..... pop... right now. Wink
