Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

I bought mine bright and early this morning as well. Smile Glad I jumped on it, as I wanted the early bird price. I noticed it's getting heavily advertised in the Calgary Herald, as I have clipped out a few ads for it already....

I was looking for a new outfit already tonight! It'a a little early, but I'm trying to decide what kind of dress to buy! It will be so weird seeing BR wearing a dress! *LOL*

    Can't wait!

No dress at a BR show for this kid. I just can't do it. Big Grin It will be very interesting to see what the band is wearing.

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

I have to say I wondered that too Westernsky. Because I was at work when they went on sale here I arranged for someone else to get mine. We thought that by buying at BR.COM there was a chance to win prizes but it turns out its the same prizes as if you bought tickets at Ticketmaster. It seems strange that the biggest fans have to pay $9.00 more if they buy it from the BR website. I am all for supporting the band but it seems to me the biggest fans are being treated very poorly. The friend who bought my ticket bought seven tickets which means as a group we paid an extra $63. Frown

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

Ya Hazy and we ended up getting the cheaper ones before BR.com added the $15 fee.

So Vishal whats up with that when Ticketmaster only charged $6? I am still waiting and e-mail too btw.

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

Does anyone know how many tickets for the show there are in total? I reckon when and if I do buy a ticket, it will be cheaper through Ticketmaster, even with the early bird tickets sold out? I'm just trying to estimate how long it will be 'til the show sells out.

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

GDW I believe there are about 4000 tickets in total. The cheaper price is for the first 1000 tickets. A friend of mine bought tickets today off of ticketmaster.ca and the $75 price was still available.

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

What confusion! The promoter went back and forth on the GST issue and we ended up looking like hogs. That too compared to Ticketmaster!

The sum of it is that the ticket price listed on our ticket page was incorrect all along. We were originally told that the total ticket price was exclusive of GST and certain fees, and that TM was the one with the incorrect price. Anyway, as it turned out, those charges were included in the base ticket price.

We will be refunding $9.50 to those who bought tickets before the price was corrected yesterday to $80.50. I hope this clears off the air regarding the embarassing disparity in prices.

It's a shame when the band is given incorrect information by the parties it involves to work their shows. We're sorry for the frustration and disappointment this must have caused.

Re: Blue Rodeo bring in the New Year in Calgary

Thanks Vishal. I was feeling punished for buying them through the webpage. Its a sad day when Ticketmaster starts looking good. Wink Glad it was just a mix-up and thanks for clearing it up.
