cappy1:
My least favourite BR venue has to be the Molson Amphitheatre -- don't like that place much.
"When the student is ready the teacher will appear" --Ghandi---
I have enjoyed BR at every venue I have seen them...for example Citadel Hill in Halifax, Massey Hall in TO (one of my favs), etc, etc... I definitely have to agree with some comments about Molson Aphitheatre. Although I am going in a couple of weeks...because I can't get enough BR!! I wish other concert goers would respect other people!! I am of average height and was in second row last year...Well, when people came down in front I happened to get a 6' tall guy and some girl (who was also around 6' tall) with a stuffed fish on her head. Where is the respect for other people???? I couldn't even see the stage. For me...I like to listen to BR but I also like to watch them perform!!

I prefer sit-down venues. Massey Hall, Orillia Opera House, etc. Great sound, no pushing or shoving, no standing on tippy-toes...
I carry with me the memory of a field I once knew, of a night so full of stars that I was left humbled by it's endless beauty. I know that whatever the cost, life is worth living. So bring it on...I can take it.

Re: What type of concert venue(s) do you prefer?
I've seen the band in lots of venues - county fairs, large arenas, small outdoor shows, large outdoor shows, clubs, you name it! My least favorite venues were the Kee to Bala and any of the arena shows I've been to. I very rarely miss Blue Rodeo when they're in town, but I refuse to see them at the Scotia Bank Place anymore. I'd rather spend my money on gas to travel and see them at a half decent venue! My favorite venue has to be the Stratford Theatre, followed closely by Barrymores. I also really love outdoor shows because I have a hard time sitting still. Most outdoor shows are good as far as being able to dance. Mind you, I've encountered some wannabe-cops (security guards) at some venues who were on real power trips. A few years back, one guy in Gananoque told us "You need to sit down. The band doesn't want anyone up dancing!" to which I replied "Bullsh*t they don't!" Ha! Ha! As if! I loved the Malkin Bowl. It is such a beautiful area and the sound was really good BUT the security guys were being real jack-asses! They threatened to kick us out if we didn't stop dancing. Well you know me... I'm as hard-headed as they come, so needless to say I got my fair share of warnings! LOL! I don't go to a rock concert to sit there and twiddle my thumbs. Sorry.

Unless classical, opera, or theatre I need to stand. My name ain't Jerry Atric and it's rock & roll for cripes sake. Sitting is nice between band otherwise as the song says, "get up 'outta' your rockin' chair grandma"

Just ignore Ray, Carol, he thinks he's the centRE of the universe! When they boot his dancing butt out of Stratford, he'll come down a peg or two! [SEG]

Re: What type of concert venue(s) do you prefer?
Actually I tried sitting at the Port Colborne beach concert, but babes kept getting in front of me shaking their booties. I got fed up hitting them with my cane, so I finally stood up and stayed up! And yes, I did shake my XXXL booty! The band were preoccupied with the buxom Miss I-Can't-Keep-My-Bikini-Cover-On-And-I-Am-Soooo-Stoned, which was pretty amusing to watch!

Re: What type of concert venue(s) do you prefer?
I love the shows at the Stratford Festival Theatre Why, you ask! LOL! It's a five minute drive at the most from my house, comfy seats, not really too many bad seats and this year I have the added anticipation of meeting so many of the friends I've made here!
