    Re: Live Concert Disc?

Howlin', I'm with you all the way. I too am a bootleg collector for a few bands. The quality of those recordings is so variable that you never know what you're going to get.

In my opinion, it is the live recordings that truly cement the relationship between band and fans. Some bands are perfectionists that don't want anything that is less than perfect to get out. In fact, it's the miscues and other fun moments that happen in a show that can make boots so good.

And as you said, some shows just cook, or there is something unusual played.

For example, I understand that the recent Montreal shows were incredible, and the crowd was completely wired. In addition, they played Knockin' On Heaven's Door. I would buy that one in a second, plus the 2 shows that I've been to this year, plus any other one that was considered great. Every show is unique and special in its own way.

In my opinion, they should record every show, and make them available. This puts the bootleggers out of business, and gives the band a chance to make some money. It's a win-win situation!

They could also pull a few from the vaults and make them available too.

I would love a show from the POG tour. We know that the Kitchener show was recorded, because that was the source for the live tracks on the US release. Put the whole show out for us!!

    "How's everyone doing tonight,
You know we're all going to get snowed in here tonight" . . . Just Like a Vacation

My favorite BR release by far - I already had to buy a new copy because I played the first one so much.

I'd be first in line for Just Like a Vacation, Part 2!!!

Just Like A Vacation is probably my all time favourite BR disc! If I had to choose my desert island discs, it would make the short list!

    Buy it and enjoy!

Tell us what you think of it Jammy!

    Re: Live Concert Disc?

Now for sure I want to buy it. Went to pick up my son from school so I thought I would stop in at Future Shop and pick it up and they don't have it. Must go to another store after supper. That really sucked, I was looking forward to having a good listen.

    Re: Live Concert Disc?

I find that our local Music World usually has a copy in stock. HMV is pretty good, too.

Maybe a couple of phone calls to your local spots will help!

Future Shop is ok, but only tends to keep the most recent and popular stuff in stock.

Best Buy is pretty reliable too, if you have one nearby.

    Good luck!

    Re: Live Concert Disc?

Well I only went to Future Shop cause I was driving by it on the way to pick up my son. I guess I will try Best Buy a bit later cause right now I have a cake in the oven. If they don't have it I guess I will order it from the website, the only thing is, that I wanted to listen to it TONIGHT Roll Eyes Well I guess we will just have to see how my luck pans out at Best Buy.

You know, I use to see it all the time when I wasn't thinking of buying it. Now, it's nowhere to be seen. Frown

    Re: Live Concert Disc?

JAM I always felt that way about it too until one day I saw it at a great price (I think they had marked it as if it were a single cd) so I picked it up. Well there was no looking back. It's fantastic and I have to agree with Donna that it is worth the price just to hear Florida. You may not want your kids there for the intro though - hilarious as it is. Big Grin

    Re: Live Concert Disc?

LISA WHAT A GREAT IDEA!! sing

I would gladly, purchase as many different shows as I could lay my hands on!!

I usually only get out to see the band once a year now, at the Amphitheatre show...

There was a time, prior to my separation, when I used to go and see them at Massey Hall, and The Music Hall, when BR and friends was still happening, every December 30th.
Kind of a drag, now that they only seem to do one show per year, here in Toronto..
I"ve been to EVERY BR show for the last 16 years
here in Toronto...when there used to be 2 or 3 per year.
When I listen to a BR, CD??...I like it "LOUD", just like they were here in my livingroom.
So, as far as I"m concerned, it"s a GREAT idea!!!
PS: any idea, as to when the seat assignments for the Toronto show wil be finalized???
    As you may well imagine????
    I CAN"T WAIT !!!
(cause for me...it"s only once a year now) Frown
    Bluetunes...
As always: Thanks for the tremendous effort, you continually put forth, for ALL of us!!!

    Re: Live Concert Disc?

You've got to get JLAV, JAM, you're missing out on soooo much! There are a couple of things in between songs that I play, then rewind, then play, then rewind, over and over again just to hear Jim's voice! One is just before After The Rain when he says to someone in the audience 'you love everyone, don't you?' (you've gotta hear it to understand) and another part at the beginning of Montreal where he does this crazy little laugh and says 'it's not going well' (I think because he made a mistake on one little part of Cynthia just before). I just grin from ear to ear every time I hear it! Big Grin lovestruck love Gotta go listen right now!
