JAM, you're not wrong to want that extra perk, it's just not necessarily a doable thing.
Heck, in a perfect world we'd all get front row, right? rounder

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

I've got to agree with Donna on this one. Presales aren't just for board members. This website extends far beyond the discussion board. The discussion board is just the most visible part for us. I know when I used to work for bluerodeo.com, I really got the scope of how huge this site was and how many people frequently used the rest of the site, but didn't post on the board. So while we're the most vocal over here, there are tons of other people who use all other parts of this site, and I think they're entitled to the presale as well.

But I know, we all want the best seats! I've missed out on presale seats before because they've sold out so quickly, but even with worse seats, the shows are always great!

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

Sara I know exactly what you are saying because I was one of those that would always be checking the board for info. That's why I mentioned I never bothered with the presale before. It was just a thought like I said, thinking out loud. I know that there are a million fans out there that want great seats as well and we should be fair to all. Smile

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

I've signed up on different websites (mostly radio stations sites) just so I could take part in a pre-sale. A person would be stupid not to. Ummmmmmmm... I think I'll let the "real" fans get the best seats and I'll take the ones in the last row... NOT! laugh

When I found out I'd be going to the Keith Urban show in April, I joined his website so I could get as much information as possible... I did the same thing for the Stones and Travis Tritt. These websites are not just for chit-chat, but also for fans to find information, and part of the information alot of people are looking for is how to get the best possible seats for concerts. I saw tons of people join the board before and after the last Stratford weekend. Some of them stayed and some of them didn't. I'll admit that I sometimes suffer from the green-eyed-monster syndrome too and it doesn't always apply to strangers who pop up on the board either! LOL! Sometimes, I'm as jealous as can be of very good friends of mine! Eek

As for the Rolling Stones site... I agree, it is expensive, but worth it. Obviously, people are willing to pay these ridiculous prices, otherwise their shows wouldn't be sold out.

You make some very valid points, Lori. thumbup
And I have to admit now that I think about it...I'm just as jealous of my friends getting front row as I am of total strangers! Eek laugh

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

Well I love the fact that we can get notified the day before the sale, so we don't miss out!
I just ordered tickets for Molson Amp this morning.
I am anxious to know what seats I will actually be asigned though. How long before I know?
I forgot to specify that I want stage Greg, right in front of him!
I carry with me the memory of a field I once knew, of a night so full of stars that I was left humbled by it's endless beauty. I know that whatever the cost, life is worth living. So bring it on...I can take it.

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

Carol K you should get your seat assignments the day before the show or at best the week before the show.

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

I'd say that waiting for your seat assignment is the only drawback to ordering on the presale. At least when you buy them in person, you get your tickets right away, but they're usually not as good as the presale tics. Oh the dilemma!

You can't specify what seats you want, here's what it says on the ticket page:

*You will not have the ability to pick specific seats. We will assign you seats based on the priority of the orders. The sooner you order, the closer you'll be to the stage and the center.*

Well call me greedy but I think that registered members (they don't have to be active posters) should get first crack at tix. I'm not complaining though, I've always been lucky in getting great presale tix!! Big Grin

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

The only problem with that, Bluebird, is that there are lots of people who don't have access to the web (like myself up until february), so it isn't exactly fair to the BR fans that have to go thru other channels to get tix.

I think I am experiencing exactly what you are talking about Donnalite. I am waiting a reply back to see exactly what the circumstances are. I find it odd that 33 seats filled up in 3 seconds. I am thinking because I bought 7 tickets I was pushed back. We'll see though, I could be wrong.

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

    Donna,

I am sorry you are unhappy with your tickets, as I mentioned to you through e-mail, your order was the 89th for the floor tickets at the Molson Amphitheatre. The demand for these tickets was very high and we do our best when assigning the seats to be fair. Our records show that in 1 minute we sold just over 370 tickets. A lot of it is luck of the draw. It is not uncommon for tickets to sell out this fast; some big acts sell out the entire venue in a matter of mere minutes.

As far as the comment regarding the quantity of tickets ordered not affecting where you are seated… It does affect even if you buy through Ticketmaster or wherever else you choose. If you want 6 tickets and there are 3 seats remaining in Row E, 5 seats in Row F, 2 seats in Row G and only Row J has 6 seats together, then those are the seats you will be offered.

The majority of the feedback from our pre-sales has been positive and people seem to truly appreciate the opportunity which is why we continue to offer them. Again, I am sorry you are unhappy with your seats. I can only assure you so many times that you were assigned the best possible seats at the time your order was placed. If you do not trust this, it might be best to purchase your tickets elsewhere next time.

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

Lisa I think you guys do a remarkable job. thumbup You know that not everyone will be pleased with the seats assignments. Everyone wants the best possible seats and there are only so many to be had. I know that we are all very thankful for all the work that goes into this, so don't get anyone wrong here. I'm sure that they were just questioning the way it was done. I for sure am very grateful for all the hard work that is put into getting these pre-sale tickets. Smile

    Re: Ticket Pre-sales

Don't get me wrong, I am totally greatful for presales and respect all the work that goes into it.

There are some odd circumstances this time and I felt they needed to be questioned. Thanks for dealing with it Lisa Smile
