Hello Board Members, both new and old,

Please take a moment to read the BlueRodeo.com Discussion Board Rules. These rules are in place in order to make the Board a happy, friendly place where Blue Rodeo fans from across the globe can gather to talk about their favourite band and other topics.

If you happen to break any of the rules, you will receive a warning. Rack up enough warnings, or commit a serious enough offense, and you will be banned from the Board.

Respect Each Other

- Practice Self-Moderation: Before you hit that "Post" button, take a moment to read over your message. Does it contribute to the conversation? Is it respectful of your fellow board members? Does it follow all the rules? If so, then post away.

- People Are Entitled to Their Own Beliefs: You don't have to agree with everyone's beliefs and opinions but please respect them. Respecting each others' beliefs shows that this is an open and welcoming community.

- No Nude Photos/Porn/Sexual Harassment: We want everyone to feel comfortable surfing the BlueRodeo.com Discussion Board so no nude or pornographic images are allowed in posts, as avatars or as signatures. Sexual harassment (bothering someone with unwanted sexual attention) will also not be tolerated. This includes harassment that happens on the Board or over PMs.

- Offensive Language: The occasional bit of "adult language" is fine but please don't go overboard. Blue Rodeo doesn't fill their songs with swears so why should you fill your posts with such words? Also, any hateful language (racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. remarks) will not be tolerated. Posts containing these kinds of remarks will be edited or deleted by a mod or the admin.

Practice Correct Discussion Board Etiquette

 - Make Your Posts Substantive: Please post only if you have something meaningful to contribute to the conversation. This helps to advance the conversation and helps to prevent a thread from being filled with "Me too" comments.

- Avoid Using All Caps: When you use all caps LIKE THIS you are yelling. So please don't use all caps unless you are meaning to yell something.                  

- Put the Thread in the Correct Forum: Each forum has its own theme. Please respect this theme (and your fellow board members) by posting in the correct forum. Threads that are posted in the wrong forum will be moved to the correct one.

- Multiple Threads: One topic = one thread. Multiple threads on the same topic will be combined into one thread. Also, please avoid posting the same thread in multiple forums. While we realize that you want your thread to receive maximum exposure, posting the same thread in multiple forums splits up replies and makes for a weaker discussion.

- Locked Threads: The decision to lock a thread is made by a mod or the admin. Usually a thread is locked because it is a multiple thread. Please do not be offended if a mod locks your thread, it's nothing personal! And please do not protest the locking of a thread by opening a new, similar thread.

No Commercial Posts/Spam

This isn't Ebay so please don't try to sell your fellow board members anything. Any posts of a commercial nature will be deleted by a mod or the admin.

Problems with Another Member?

If you are having serious problems with another member of the Board, try to first work things out through private messages ("PM"). Please do NOT try to work it out by attacking each other over a series of posts and/or threads. And please do not make a private battle public; that only upsets more people and never solves the problem. 

You can also turn to the mods (schwa_girl, HazySoul, DonnaR, Heather or Kara) and ask for help working things out.
