Greg's New CD Now on Sale

In case you missed this news post over on the homepage...

Greg Keelor's new solo album Aphrodite Rose is now available for presale over in the BlueRodeo.com Store. The album will hit stores on October 10 and if you preorder it before September 27 and you live in Canada, you will likely receive the CD in your mailbox on that date.

Also, everyone who orders Aphrodite Rose from the BlueRodeo.com Store before the end of October will be able to download a free bonus track by Greg. Right now the identity of this track is a mystery but its exact title, as well as instructions on how to download it, will be emailed to all purchasers in about two weeks time.

Great news Lindsay - thanks.  Smile

Hey any chance you're going to do a Q&A with Greg like you did with Jim?

Hopefully we will hear about tour dates soon.

Greg Keelor met Jim Cuddy and then I met you people. Serendipity is a marvellous thing.

I just had a look at the track listing and Colour and Rhyme seemed to ring a bell for me.  Isn't that the name of the tune that Jimmy Sublett referred to in his post when he reminisced about playing with Greg and Jim back in high school and he said he wished they would  record Colour and Rhyme (which Jim and Greg had written)? I'll have to try and find that post.

Yep.  Here it is.  I found it under the Swallows post I did for their show  Aug 25, 2005.

    http://www.bluerodeo.com/forums/post/195921.aspx

    He was in the Hi-Fis.

edit: I went back and read the whole thread and had to paste this in too.

"During the Hi-Fi years Jim and Greg were very prolific in thier writing. They hadn't honed in on one particular style but I think we probably had thirty or so original songs, all of which were good, but many, were great. We were not the best musicians in the technical sense but we had great song writers.
I can remember Greg coming to me one evening and saying "Jimmy,I've got a song...".Now I must tell you that both Jim and Greg seemed to write about 400 songs a week.O.K. I'm exagerating,it just that they wrote a lot and all the time.I swear every time Keelor met a girl, guess what, we had a song.Anyway he wrote this tune which he called 'Colour and Rhyme"and I must tell you ,it was one of the prettiest songs I have ever heard. All you Keelor fans should demand that he records it.,otherwise it will be lost..."

Yay!  Yay!  There is a Keelorite.  (I think that's a religious reference Adele)

Lindsay, what shipping option do we have to select?  Do we have to pay for the most expensive shipping or should it get most places on time with regular shipping?  Thanks.

You can chose any shipping options. As long as you live in Canada and order before the 27 of this month, you should get it on October 10. However, if you live in some small Northern or island community that only gets mail once or twice a week, please don't be surprised if it takes a few days longer.

That's exactly what I thought when I first read Jimmy Sublett's post!  I think that might be why I remembered it.  I'd like to hear the other ones he mentioned in his post too!   ...like ..of course...Smile

And ks, I love the stories behind the songs too!

Lindsay, how much is the shipping?  I don't seem to be able to see the shipping options and pricing before inputting my credit card info.

Donna the total comes to $21.37 Canadian.  $7.88 of that is shipping, PST and GST.  The up side of ordering at BR.com is that you get a bonus track to download in about two weeks time.

I've ordered my copy, now I'm waiting for a Toronto show to be added to his tour schedule!
