    Big community!

Wow - Are there really over 4,200 members on the Bluerodeo.com board!?:

    "Who is Online

There are 1 guest(s) online. There are 2 of 4,206 member(s) online - ann, coolblue"

I would have thought of it as being maybe in the hundreds.  So does this mean that since the new board was launched recently this many members have registered - hard to believe!!!

I found that odd too Larry, so I went and checked out the member list one day when I was bored... Alot of the names are similar. I'm guessing that people screwed up the spelling and created new accounts or simply changed their minds about using a particular name when they originally registered and alot of those accounts are orphaned now. It was kinda neat seeing all those names though! It made me wonder how some of those old-timer members are doing today!

Maybe they are also people who made the mistake of using the Blue Rodeo online store, and have not gotten their orders, and are being ignored by whoever runs the store!

    Re: Big community!

Again, I'm really sorry that your experience with the BR online store has been an unpleasant and frustrating one. I believe what you're telling us, but I have to say that I've never experienced anything like this when dealing with them... Have you ever stopped to think that maybe Canada Post screwed up? That has been known to happen. I'm not making excuses for anyone, but I don't think you're going to accomplish anything by posting the kind of message you just did because unfortunately, there's nothing we (as board members)can do to help you. I'm sure Lindsay will see your post in the original thread you created and hopefully your situation will be resolved. I have always found her helpful in the past.

    Good luck!

    Re: Big community!

    Hi,

There was an email a few weeks ago advising those who have symbols in their names to contact the crew because they could no longer use their names as is.  Maybe that explains some of the similarities.

I happen to be scrolling through the list of names tonight looking for a particular member and noticed a lot of new members on July 26, 2006.

When I joined this summer, there were approx. 3800 members.  Then all of a sudden there are over 4000. Let's hope its due to the BR, Jim and Greg's ongoing touring.

    Re: Big community!

Canada Post may have screwed up, and have been known to do so.  That still does not change the fact that noone from BR has proved in any way that they shipped anything.  If so, show me the proof of pickup, registered mail requires more than just a stamp.  The fact that I have sent many many emails, requests, phone calls, and noone has bothered to acknowledge it, tells me that they are responsible.  Hide from the problem, maybe it will go away.  The only way I have gotten any kind of recognition from them, is by posting on here, therefore, I will continue until they make it right.  I do not enjoy this, but am now past the point of frustration.  All I want are answers, and noone is willing to even acknowledge the questions.

    Re: Big community!

Pumpguy, I understand your frustration, but like was said before, we can't help you. We may acknowledge you, but that won't get you anywhere, unless you are just needing attention. I'm sure that the people who run the store have not singled you out to put you through, perhaps you are missing some information that would help them in helping you. Of course I don't know the whole story, but I also agree that Canada Post has been known to misplace packages, it has happened to me many times (not only Canada Post, but US Post Office, UPS, etc). Maybe a certain length of time has to pass before things can be looked into further, I once ordered a bed spread and didn't expedite the shippin, it took 3 months before I got it Tongue Tied. Be patient and be kind, people will be more willing to help you when you are kind and understanding.

    Re: Big community!

Pump Guy - please head back over to this thread

Everyone else - I think Greg & Jim & Bob's solo touring has caused us to experience some growth and I think that's great.

As for the July 26, 2006 date, that's the date the new board started up. That date will appear alongside any accounts that haven't been activated on the new board. As you can see if you look at the "View All Users" list, there are a lot of people out there who haven't logged into the new board. This isn't that surprising since some of the accounts on this board are very old. When we started up the new board, we brought over all the account, regardless of when they had been started or when they had been last used.

Like someone already pointed out, it's not uncommon for someone to create an account and then decide to create a different account under a different user name.

As for changing people's user names, that shouldn't be causing a change in the numbers. If someone has an "illegal" name, that name is changed, a new account isn't created.

    I hope this explains somethings,

    Lindsay

Thanks Lindsay. I wasn't aware that all the registered members had been carried over.
