Been on that site before and it's just not for keelorites, it's for Sadians but mostly I would say, The Unintended fans, which I am BIG TIME. It's awesome but I'm not on myspace. Thanks for letting everyone know about this site. Hopefully it will bring more attention to this wonderful band, which I haven't seen since last year around this timeSad

    Re: The Unintended

You know, the only reason I stumbled across their myspace was I was just checking out some other myspace sites that my friends are on and I saw them so that's when I came to realize that they were part of that network.

I'm not on myspace but I do check stuff out occassionally. But yeah, Rick, Dallas, Travis, Sean, Mike and Greg are truly GREAT. Just wish that they would head out more with live shows. They're just such a blast.

But I would recommend hitting that site for sureYes

Once again, thanks Joanne for bringing it others attentionBig Smile

Well, here comes the unpopular opinion.  I'd never heard or seen the unintended before, so I checked it out.  After seeing that video clip and hearing the music, any urge I had to check them out has been permenantly squashed.

Well Dizzy, I stand beside you. I had not heard them but I ordered the CD anyway. Yikes! Not my kind of music that's for sure. I guess it just goes to prove that we can all listen to the same thing and hear many different things. Tim didn't even stay in the room for the whole CD, and he is the one in the family with some out there kinds of music. That has changed for him though!

It is psychodelic and different.   That is why appreciate Greg and the Sadies.  They are diverse!!!  I can see where not everyone likes it.  Not sure If I would like it did not see them live first!

    Re: The Unintended

Joanne I totally agree with you that Greg and the Sadies are so diverse. They can play and sing anything so that makes them even more amazing. But the Unintended leads itself to it's own genre and I really believe it's Rick White's influence in the Unintended.

I'm sorry to say, but I do enjoy that music as well. It's more "out" there than usual stuff but nonetheless, I still think it's GOOD. You know, you have to see them LIVE as well and I haven't seen anything happening in that department for awhile.

    Re: The Unintended

edit: This post is actually in response to Dizzy's post.  Dizzy who loves guitars!  While I like the Unintended I realize that my musical tastes need not be everyone else's.  I still believe he'd be blown away by Travis and Dallas of The Sadies if he saw them live.  Their musicianship is dazzling.

While I did like the CD when I heard it  (it reminded me of Pink Floyd and JJ Cale sort of mixed together),  I really grew to appreciate what they were doing after seeing them live. They definitely deal in psychedelia.  They were excellent live.  Is it possible that you've become solely a mainstream sort of music fan?  I find it surprising that for someone who is such a guitar buff, you haven't been out to see Travis or Dallas on guitar.  You're missing a huge treat.

    Re: The Unintended

I have a wide range of music that I enjoy, it's all over the map. That's me, and I'm just fine with that. I just like what I like. The Unintended is just not my pick for listening pleasure. I am still not sure about the Sadies, we bought their CD in Waterloo back last October at their show with Greg. We went to see Greg, and not the Sadies. We had never heard the Sadies before and we have only listened to the CD once or twice since we bought it. I'll have to put it on later and give it another listen. If I do or don't like them it's because of my likes and dislikes. JAM honey, you have to stop saying you're sorry for liking something or thinking something. You like it and that's all that matters, IMHO! No need to say sorry!!

K Cathy, no more sorriesWink and I think you should give the Sadies cd another listen. I think they're SUPER GOODYesBig Smile

As for the Unintended, sure it's different and I guess everyone has their own likes and dislikes and that's okay. I just have to say here, they are SUPER TALENTED and even if you don't like that kind of music, I'm sure that you appreciate their talent. It's unbelievable the versatility of their musical talents.  Very enjoyable to watch as well. Actually on March 25th it will be a year since I've seen them live and it's time for them to get back on the road and sell their stuffBig SmileYes

Just watching all these guys perform is worth getting out there to see them. The way they play will make you stare in wonder. BELIEVE MEBig Smile

    Re: The Unintended

The first thing I do when I buy a cd is read the lyrics and credits, before I even listen to it.  I was really impressed with the lyrics on the Unintended cd, so it was very disappointing to realize that the vocals were totally overwhelmed by the instruments. Rick White's voice is too feather light to be heard, which was a real shame.  The instrumentals were good, but I was not impressed with the way the cd was engineered.  I could hear the influence of the early British psychedelic music, but give me the real thing any day...The Moody Blues, The Kinks, etc.  This cd on the whole just didn't do it for me.
I carry with me the memory of a field I once knew, of a night so full of stars that I was left humbled by it's endless beauty. I know that whatever the cost, life is worth living. So bring it on...I can take it.

I can see why you would be disappointed Carol if you read the lyrics first.  The lyrics really don't come through very well.  I really like this cd but it is a cd that I put on when I am reading a book and just hanging.  I love the spacey feel of it.
