Re: THE SADIES new album "New Seasons" coming soon

Yes JAM, I try to get in about 7 cups of joe before noon on an average day...LOL! Not straight up, no not anymore as I've been doing the "HALF CAFF" thing for about 6 months now and it's really helped me slow down, I have fewer heart palpitations, that tremor in my right hand has almost stopped and I stay just as alert while at work....yawn.....

You should have seen me when I was doing 10 cups of fully caffeinated java a day back when I was in graduate school seven years ago. I was partying like it was 1999...wait a moment it was 1999, or 2000! Oh all I can remember was playing The Days in Between on continuous rotation while studying web design, database organization, and other cool stuff.

Not sure if you were on the Discussion Board back then, but I would think nothing of hopping into my car and driving all night to get to a city where the next Blue Rodeo show or Sadies show was. But then times got hard and the money ran out or was it the other way around...jeez I can't remember, I was so 'hepped up' on caffeine...it was all sort of a blur, not the group Blur but you know that vision thing where you can't see too well. Any way this all to real shaggy dog story has to end and the upshot is that I now work in a city that never sleeps and where they pour coffee just like fine champagne. (I think Elvis Costello sang something like that, oh yeah he sang about Coca Cola...which has way too much caffeine in it too).

Anyway, now that I am much calmer, and gasoline/petrol is more expensive, I just don't do those old road trips. I wait until a favourite band comes to NYC and sooner or later they all come through NYC. So see ya at the next NYC concert. And I'm sure hoping that The Sadies play NYC. They were pretty darned good the last time they were here.

Oh gotta go, coffee's perking again!CoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffee

Re: THE SADIES new album "New Seasons" coming soon

Peter, you crack me up!!  I remember you when you used to take those crazy road trips... heck I went on a few with you!  heh!  Those were the days eh!  The Days in Between that is.  LOL

That's very GOOD news indeed about the new album coming out.  I can't wait to hear it!  The Sadies are coming out here in the fall with the Tragically Hip.  I don't really like the Hip live... (Gordon Downie drives me nuts... he's so preachy and obnoxious) but I might force myself to go see them just so I can see the Sadies.

You can stream all of the Sadies new album. Also, the CD release is tentatively scheduled for September 18 at Lees Palace.

Heavy Trash also have a new album coming out - stream it on yeproc too! Sorry! I'm bad at the linking thing - mine looks disabled or something. Lost. Anyways, anyone going to Jarvis?

Hmm you are correct that is a Tuesday and makes absoutely NO sense. I'm pretty sure that's what the boys said - regardless it is in September and is at Lees. So look forward! I'm guessing they'll do a double night again like last September. Glad you are so enthusiastically enjoying the album!!! I am in agreement. I do love Favourite Colours a lot too though!

PS it's not just a snippet on that link you can stream the entire album! How exciting! ;)

Re: THE SADIES new album "New Seasons" coming soon

Stream all of John Doe's album: A Year in the Wilderness. I saw him play with the Sadies during NXNE in Toronto he was seemingly overrated at the time, overtaking the Sadies set and so on... but this album is pretty rocking, and he is backed by one hell of a band.

Kathleen Edwards/BR fans will probably be a fan - most specifically of the songs, "The Golden State" in which she duets with him. Check it out, http://yeproc.com/artist_info.php?artistId=9863

Man, Yep Roc is rockin' right now!!! Still can't get that link thing down, maybe it's because i'm on an Apple?

Ann, it's the WHOLE album that is being streamed, it's soooooooooo delightful, so refreshing.  They really shine -----they always do, but this time it's BLINDINGCoolYes

cdawg, I LOVE Favourite Colours as wellYes  But New Seasons is my new Favourite. I also LOVE Tremendous EffortsYes  hmmmmmm I guess I LOVE them all, but those would be my fav's

I haven't checked out John Doe/Kathleen Edwards yet but I will.

cdawg I don't think the link thing is because you're on an Apple. It took me awhile to get it down pat.
You copy the link that you want to share, so you press ctrl c then you paste it in the body of your post by pressing ctrl v, highlight the url once again-----then link will light up the blue colour that is normally not highlighted on the message bar, click on that link and it will open up a window where it says link, paste the link url again and you can title it as well, then just press insert and it will be done Big Smile
