When we post, what do the little bars above the red or blue chips by our names mean?

I could swear that I had one little blue bar by my name in my posts. It's not there now.

Hey, now I have 2 little blue bars. Do they denote posting frequency?

I think the guitar picks add up as you post, & the blue bars show your post ranking in relation to other members?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I would have answered you earlier, snowfalling, but I was hoping someone who was more sure, or at least could explain it better would jump in.

The bars are another informal board ranking system, like the guitar picks.

To use the two of you (Sammie and Snowfalling) as an example, if you put your mouse over the bars, you'll see that Snowfalling is a "Top 200 Contributer", while Sammie is "Top 50".

So, if I go away and don't post for 2 weeks, my blue bar rating probably drops. If I'm posting during a slow period, the number of bars probably increases. Makes sense.
