My Dad's friend got married a year and a half ago, and Jim Cuddy's brother was there. The groom made a comment about not asking the brother about Jim- I guess they aren't on good terms perhaps fun fact #2 explains that? Interesting...

Are you sure they aren't on good terms?  It seems more likely that Jim's brother gets sick of having people ask about his famous brother.  I can only assume that gets really tiresome.

There have been a few stories about Jim & his brother since his brother ran for the Conservatives.  Jim has always been very positive about his brother with the exception of his brother's politics.  His brother also is the one who wrote the blurb in the Greatest Hits cd liner notes.

I agree with you Torri, I just think that Jim's brother Loftus must get tired of being asked Jim questions.  I do recall reading quite a while back that they just don't talk politics cause they're not on the same page but I do think that everything is OK with themYes

    Here's the article I recall reading http://ffwdweekly.com/Issues/2006/1102/mus4.htm

To echo Torri's post about the Greatest Hits liner notes... when I read them and saw the author was Loftus, I got the sense that Loftus has nothing but admiration for his brother Jim.

JAM, I want to thank you for including that link.  What particularly resonated with me was this quote from Jim:  "I think if we were all to sit around the table and actually talk in a way that was honest, we’d ruin many a meal. But there’s not much you can do about that – I think you have to accept your family for who they are."  That's great advice - especially around the holidays.  And I want to add, not only accept your family for who they are, but also when it comes to your siblings, accept their choice of spouse as well.

To me, sitting around and talking politics with my family (whom I am always at odds with) is just an excuse for not taking a real interest in what is going on in their lives. IMHO.

That's a very interesting point, Ray.  I'll have to ponder that one.
