    Greetings from Massachusetts!

    Hi all -

I've been poking around the site for awhile. I'm a musician (semi-pro for a few years), & a fan of the band since the late 80's. I first saw them on the Diamond Mine tour when I was living in San Francisco, and a bunch since then.

I'm thinking about a roadtrip up to Toronto for the Massey Hall shows, as it's been a few years since I've seen them down in the states. Trying to schedule in a few side events, hockey games, etc to add to the journey. The other option would be Montreal the month before.

So..For those of you that get the good fortune of seeing them regularly in those two cities - which would you do?

     Thanks! -

Greetings Twangverb!  I'm from New Hampshire!!  Yuppers just over the border.  I'm actually a transplant from MA but now I've lived here longer than where I grew up down there.  Are you playing around in the Boston area?  In a band or on your own?

We're actually going to one of the Montreal shows and all of the Massey Hall shows.  Unfortunately the Leafs are out of town while we'll be in TO (GO BRUINS!) but the Hockey Hall of Fame is a good place to go if you're into hockey. We've been to TO a couple of times.  The Lawrence? and Kensington Markets are cool to go to.  The CN tower is good to do once.  The view from up there is amazing!  If you like historical and opulent Casa Loma is pretty neat.  Any suggestions from the locals?  We're looking for more new things to do as well.

Hello twangverb (interesting name by the way)!  First of all, welcome to the board!

I've only seen Blue Rodeo in Montreal.... at the Théatre St-Denis... and I must say that it was an EXCELLENT venue.  I can't comment on Massey Hall because I've never gone to a show there.  Wouldn't Montreal be a lot closer than Toronto?

Oh and I have a question for you now!  I'm flying from Boston to Las Vegas on Christmas day next week... and I'm trying to find a good decent hotel room near the airport that isn't too too expensive.  Got any suggestions?  We had originally toyed with the idea of staying in Marblehead... but I quickly found out that many of the B&B's there are closed during the holidays.  So much for that idea!  Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Welcome twangverb - nice to have another yank on the board. Now don't get me wrong I love Toronto, but Montreal is such a beautiful city IMHO. So I guess it depends on how people rave about the two venues. And if you can't decide....do both!
