Hello,
I'm posting today in this forum as I thought this might be a good place to pass on a thank you to the band as well as introduce ourselves. Tanya and I have been together for 11 years. One of our first dates back in 1996 was to a Blue Rodeo concert here in Vancouver at GM place. I didn't know the bands songs that well at the time but she did and I wanted to do something special and take her to the concert. We had a wonderful time and naturally within weeks I knew every song inside and out and Blue Rodeo certainly became our favourite band. Over the years we've always attended the concerts here in Vancouver and love the energy that the band puts out everytime. There were always nice surprises when their friends like Barney Bentall (even once with a broken leg) or Sarah Mclachlan would show up, and it's always great that they provide so much support to their opening acts and usually always perform some songs with them. Whatever the size of the venue whether it was GM Place, The Queen E Theatre, The Commedore, or at the little bar in Old Fairhaven when Greg couldn't make it, we always were so entertained and those concerts always bring back memories of that first concert in the early days when we were falling in love.
Although we have lived together for many years, and have been engaged for a few years, today we booked our wedding day. We are going away to a resort in Mexico in November to get married on the beach. I wanted to thank the band for so much of the music that we've enjoyed in our relationship over the years. From that first concert together when the sparks between us were starting to grow, 11 years later you'll still find us slow dancing in the dark in the living room to "Bad Timing" and others. Thanks. We love your music. Matthew and Tanya.
P.S. And thanks for offering presale tickets in the Blue Rodeo store. We'd always ended up buying the tickets from a ticket broker as I could never get really close tickets through Ticketmaster (unless they were for general admission venues of course). For the last Vancouver show at Malkin Bowl we bought them through the presale and were so pleased.
