I'm thinking I might want to make the trek out to Vancouver for the Malkin Bowl shows again this year.  Gotta decide soon, before presales.  Decisions, decisions.....Tongue Tied

    Re: OT 24/7

I was going to go home at noon and do laundry and dishes, but I had to stay at work over lunch to --- (nevermind why!)

    *sigh*

I just got back from a job interview...what a nerve-wracking experience!!  I think the only thing more stressful is the presale frenzy for a BR concert! Tongue Tied

too add to the WTF is wrong with people file:

Heading out for my walk yesterday, I made it about half way down my street then I noticed a little white dog in a car, the car had no one in it and the windows right up, sooooo...I of course started up the driveway to get someone, as I did...I noticed their was an infant in the car as well. At this point .... I'm outraged!!! I find a lady in the back yard gardening, she didn't seem to speak much english, but I got her attention when I said that it's illegal and I could call the police. She ran in and got another lady who came out and told me the car is running and the air is on. I told her no...this car is not running......and......that's not the point. Finally this young girl comes out, I explain to her that I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass, but its very dangerous and against the law and you ehar on the news all the time about babies dying in cars from the heat.

She promised she only ran in for a second and she thanked me for my concern...she did seem rattled....I hope she was rattled enough to not do it again....it wasn't that hot out at that time, but I know when I got in my own vehicle that afternoon, it was bloody hot in there....I dunno, when you think of the things that can happen, its just terrifying and I know that this girl meant her child and dog no harm, she just didn't think it all the way through...and that's something that isn't played with here, you will be arrested and you will be charged and you'll be lucky if your kid doesn't get taken away from you and that is the best case scenario!

    Re: OT 24/7

Katiescarlet, that's crazy! I shudder to think at what might have happened. *brrrrr!*

    OT:

I had just gotten back to the office after running out to grab some lunch, and was pi**ed to discover that my toasted sandwich was indeed a burned-to-a-crisp one! It was totally black! I can't believe they wouldn't take the time to just toast another bread for me before putting the toppings in!

Well, I work a ways from Tim Horton's, but I looked up their number on the web and called them to make a complaint. I'm not about to go all the way back there and have them make a new sandwich, but it's just the principle of the thing. I think it's totally unprofessional to serve food like this. Anyway...

I talked to the manager and tomorrow I am going back there for lunch on Mr. Horton. Small consolation for the bitter tasting sandwich I got today, (I only ate the toppings and left the bread), but it's more than nothing.

    Re: OT 24/7

When we were little my grandmother would throw our hair out on the lawn for the birds to make nests with whenever she cut our hair. (We would send summers at her place, and she always cut it short to spare us from the heat a bit.)

OT: I was really looking forward to the Great Glebe Garage Sale this weekend... until I realized it would be next weekend! :p

I have a cellphone now...and by "cellphone" I don't mean that I got two cans and tied them together with string (yeah, I know it took me long enough to switch from dialup internet to highspeed!)...so yeah, this "Brown-Eyed-Dog" is learning some new tricks...hehehe!
