Hey Folks...
I just (finally) produced and uploaded video clips that I shot of the Blue Rodeo & Friends "showcase" performance during the 2007 Americana Music Association's annual Awards & Honors week!
There are ten clips in the playlist; including one featuring each "Friend": Ron Sexsmith, Oh Susanna, Luke Doucet, and Justin Rutledge.
But, it's the final clip...of "Lost Together"...that may very well be the Holy Grail for fans of Canadian musicians! For the night's finale, none other than Tom Wilson, Stephen Fearing, and Colin Linden...a.k.a. Blackie & The Rodeo Kings...join everyone else on stage for what turned out to be an amazing performance of the BR classic!
How this occured: During the show, I noticed the three members of BARK were standing to the side (and in front) of the stage; watching the show. I had spoke briefly with Stephen before the show; then introduced myself to Tom during the break before the encore. Then, when BR came back out onstage and Jim asked all the "Friends" to come out for "Lost", I said, loud enough to be heard, "what about Blackie?!" Ron Sexsmith heard me and immediately chimed in, "Yeah, let's bring Blackie up here!" I started filming at that point; so the clip starts off by showing Jim motioning for Tom, Stephen & Colin to join in. You'll then hear Greg remarking "Black Rodeo". ;-)
Anyway, I have the clip as the featured video on my YouTube channel. you can view it by going here:
Just below that clip, you'll see the playlist for ALL ten clips. Enjoy! Of course, keep in mind that a video's quality decreases when uploaded to YT; but's they're watchable. I framed and zoomed the shot the best I could. The audio is very good; although that venue is notorious for a "booming" sound. Anyway, please forward this info on to your friends; and, if you're a YT member, please rate and comment wherever you'd like. Thanks!
Peace...
B'ham Steve
p.s. If someone would be kind enough to post here the name of the song that Oh Susanna performs, I will update the clip on my channel to include that info. Tks!
