Videos of BR's performance at the 2007 AMA's

    Hey Folks...

I just (finally) produced and uploaded video clips that I shot of the Blue Rodeo & Friends "showcase" performance during the 2007 Americana Music Association's annual Awards & Honors week!

There are ten clips in the playlist; including one featuring each "Friend": Ron Sexsmith, Oh Susanna, Luke Doucet, and Justin Rutledge.

But, it's the final clip...of  "Lost Together"...that may very well be the Holy Grail for fans of Canadian musicians!  For the night's finale, none other than Tom Wilson, Stephen Fearing, and Colin Linden...a.k.a. Blackie & The Rodeo Kings...join everyone else on stage for what turned out to be an amazing performance of the BR classic!

How this occured:  During the show, I noticed the three members of BARK were standing to the side (and in front) of the stage; watching the show.  I had spoke briefly with Stephen before the show; then introduced myself to Tom during the break before the encore.  Then, when BR came back out onstage and Jim asked all the "Friends" to come out for "Lost", I said, loud enough to be heard, "what about Blackie?!"  Ron Sexsmith heard me and immediately chimed in, "Yeah, let's bring Blackie up here!"  I started filming at that point; so the clip starts off by showing Jim motioning for Tom, Stephen & Colin to join in.  You'll then hear Greg remarking "Black Rodeo".  ;-)

Anyway, I have the clip as the featured video on my YouTube channel.  you can view it by going here:

Just below that clip, you'll see the playlist for ALL ten clips.  Enjoy!  Of course, keep in mind that a video's quality decreases when uploaded to YT; but's they're watchable.  I framed and zoomed the shot the best I could.  The audio is very good; although that venue is notorious for a "booming" sound. Anyway, please forward this info on to your friends; and, if you're a YT member, please rate and comment wherever you'd like.  Thanks!

    Peace...

    B'ham Steve

p.s.  If someone would be kind enough to post here the name of the song that Oh Susanna performs, I will update the clip on my channel to include that info.  Tks!

    P.S.

BTW, yes, that IS the Canadian Parliament building in the background of my profile pic.  I attended the last five days of the Ottawa Bluesfest last year.  it was the MOST fun I've ever had at a music festival.  And, I've been to a LOT!  Everyone I talked with was so nice to me; and most were tickled that I had come all the way from Alabama (though I'd left my banjo at home..<G>).  I was even video interviewed by Lynn Saxberg, the music writer for the Ottawa Citizen!

To view my video clips of some of BR's performance at Bluesfest, go to this link:

Also, you BARK fans can check out my two Bluesfest videos and five AMA videos of them here:

Finally, I have one clip of Corb Lund from the AMA's in Nashville:

They ALL need some hits, folks!

    Peace...

Wow, thanx, Steve! Lost Together, IMHO, is the only choice to end a concert! I almost cried watching it, till Bazil made me laugh! YesCool

I'll have to watch the others later!

How cool is it that, at the moment for Baz's "solo", Jim & Stephen seem to make room for me; like two tall trees parting!  lol

Thanks so much Steve!  I've finally had time to watch a few of them.  Lost Together is amazing!!!  It must have been incredible to be there in person.  I really hope they play Black Ribbon at the Massey Hall shows!
