borderline useless from hanging around

you're right, JAM, it has been discussed elsewhere on the DB already, last June.  But it's such a good video, and Melissa has such a beautiful voice, she deserves to have this revived.  And Greg and she fit so perfectly together in this song/video.

I recently received Melissa's DVD, Route 66, in which she travels along the old Route 66 from Chicago to California and talks about what she sees, and how she is inspired to write her music.  Skyway Bridge is one of the songs she talks about.  She says that Greg just spontaneously started to sing the lyrics from Lost Together with the lyrics from her song "Back inside the car our song's on repeat", and it fit so nicely into the song.  

Although I didn't grow up there the way Melissa did, I live near the Skyway Bridge, and there's something about the song and the video that I really identify with.

I grew up a few miles east of that bridge (in leafier surrounds), but I feel very familiar with the Skyway and the gray moods that its architecture and the spectacular (?) views of the smokestacks across the bay, are capable of inspiring. It is fitting that it was shot in black and white imho lol.

When I was a kid there was a small permanent amusement ride venue set up near there with a rollercoaster and whatnot.  It was all in the shadow of the Skyway just east of the low level bridge.

The last time I was there was for a kids triathlon which was staged near the pavillion parking lot there. It was nicer weather than the FYAO variety in the video. There are fewer colder places in Ontario than the frozen windswept shore of a great lake in wintertime.
