    Blue Rodeo-influenced tunes I wrote

Mostly Canadian content, with many songwriting aspects influenced by BR, Steve Earle, Bruce Springsteen, and a pile of others too numerous to mention.

Feedback appreciated....I'm gonna keep at it....

Bad band name...it's an old band name but my new band is "Ken Workman & The Union"

    Enjoy!

Hey, Ken...I'm always looking for new music..just had a listen...really like your tunes!

I see you have Brock Zeman on your Friends List. Being from the same area, I figured you might know each other. (We have Brock booked for a House Concert in July). So, you don't have a CD out yet? I'd be interested in one when you do!

Awesome, Sammie...thanks so much. Yep, I know Brock well. We play some of the same venues, but only hook up when I play Carleton Place (his hometown) when he happens to come by to catch one of my shows. The first CD was almost finished but had to be put on the backburner until I had the funds to complete it...but CBC radio got a hold of the EP Demo and has it on the playlist...I have a show here in Ottawa May 17th. Hope you CAN catch a show sometime and get to meet you.

Take care, thanks again for the kind words and God bless.

    Ken

Thanks, Katie...it's very encouraging for a Canuck boy like myself to get that kind of support while trying to make a go of this project.

Hopefully you'll buzz it by others too.

    Take care

Hey, Ken...maybe I just didn't look hard enough for an Events Calendar, but are you playing any Southern Ontario dates this Summer. I'm about 8 hours from Ottawa, so don't get that way too often.

We're really only just now getting started. I play in a separate trio doing shows around the Ottawa valley...mostly old cover tunes. I'd love to play out there. My keyboard player is from Wardsville near Windsor, and we plan to get some shows around that area and make a big road trip. I'll definitely keep you in the loop when that happens. Our live show has been said to be pretty cool, and representative of the recordings you heard....hopefully the powers-that-be think so and start booking us :)

We're just starting to think about booking House Concerts on a regular basis. Brock will be our first official one (we also had him, Dan Walsh & Blair Hogan here for my birthday in January). If you're coming this way (Wallaceburg, south of Sarnia) for other gigs in the future, maybe that's something you might consider.

Great sounding tunes!  Who usually plays with you?  Give us a bio of the band.

     Thanks, Paradiddle.

The bio is pretty much on my myspace...I had been playing some originals around town that caught the ear of some local musicians who immediately committed to a project which was pretty cool. Since then, we recorded some of these songs and got some attention from newspaper and radio. We had one successful show at one of the bigger venues in town here and are following up with another show later this month. If there's still interest and the buzz keeps going, we'll ride it out.
