Re: Your Favourite Blue Rodeo MEMBER!!

Since we're talking about our favourite BR songs, I thought it would be fun to talk about our favourite member!! It's kind of obvious who some of us favour Wink , but what about everyone else?? Who's your favourite guy, and why??

    Your Favourite Blue Rodeo MEMBER!!

Well I guess it's obvious that Jim is my favorite. I do like Greg as well though, heck I like them all. I think Jim and Greg are great song writers, geniuses I say.
Jim has such a strong and resonating voice. Perfect for those love songs. Greg gives a great balance to it as well. He has his own style which gives a lot of emotion to his songs.
They compliment each other, yet strong on their own.

    Walk like you don't mind..

Mine has has been Jim, then after seeing the Days in Between tour, it changed to Greg. Then it went back to Jim after JCB show's and the Greatest Hits tour. The POG tour I finally met them all - it's still Jim, but I have to say talking with Bob after the show was a wonderful. I was with someone who knows Bob very well - he made me feel very welcome.

I gotta go with Greg on that one. Greg's always been kinda introspective, something I can really identify with. Plus it'd be cool to knock back a few pints of Guinness with the Gregster!

Re: Your Favourite Blue Rodeo MEMBER!!

My first show was the Tremelo tour - Royal Theatre, Victoria (98). The JCB shows were both at Legends, Victoria (98/99). Then Rootsfest at Royal Roads, Victoria (99). The Days tour was a show in Victoria and the next night in Nanaimo (2000). The only show I've seen in Vancouver was Jan 2001 at the Commodore Ballroom. The Greatest Hits tour again Legends, Victoria (2001) and finally POG, November 2002.

I really wanted to attend the latest Vancouver shows but had to make a financial choice.

Re: Your Favourite Blue Rodeo MEMBER!!

    Ok, I gotta say Bob.
Call me crazy because without Jim and Greg, of course there would be no Blue Rodeo. But he's the only one I've met, met him a couple times after he played in little bars, and he was really great. He sat with my friend and I in between sets and chatted. And after she told him how I'd been telling everyone how good his music is (here's the best part...) he dedicated Mr. Moonlight to my husband and I during his next set!!! Too cool!
So Bob's my answer and I'm sticking to it! Unless maybe Jim or Greg would like to dedicate a song to me next time (ha ha).

Re: Your Favourite Blue Rodeo MEMBER!!

well, Jim is 'the one' for me....met him three times and each time I become tongue-tied, like a 16 year old girl.
Greg has something so deep about him...always has that look on his face like he knows something nobody else does...(hmmm), so I definately am intrigued by him.
Glenn is a doll, met him in Moncton and he was SO sweet and sincere and humble..
Met Bob and spent about three hours chatting with him and he is one of the most genuine people I've ever met...a real gentleman and just a real sweet guy.
You know what, they are all great, all so personable and approachable...what struck me most about meeting them all, including the road crew was the talk of their families and their children and wives and how proud they were displaying their photos and stories....real people, no airs about them at all.

Since Bob Wiseman can't be voted for - I vote for the next most underrated member of the band. Plus I've talked to him before and after some shows down here in NYC. The great thing about the clubs they play is that usually one - or all - of the guys sort of mull about the place before hand.

Real life, just out of view

Re: Your Favourite Blue Rodeo MEMBER!!

Mine is obviously Greg~~and it always has been!! I developed a wild crush on him in 1993, after seeing the video "Hasn't Hit Me Yet". Quite simply put, I think he's BEAUTIFUL. His face, his eyes, his music, and that voice...SIGH!! Smile And I agree, there is something VERY intriguing about him. He seems so mysterious, and I find him so fascinating. Not to mention, he's a genius! One thing I really noticed about him when I met him in November, was how he looks you in the eyes when he's talking~~and I mean REALLY looks you in the eyes!! Those beautiful brown eyes... it was enough to make me melt! Big Grin

I agree that all the guys are great though! When I met them all in November they were nothing less than wonderful to me and my son. My son always said Jim was his favourite, but now I think it's a toss-up between Jim and Glenn (he just adores Glenn for letting him play his drums! Smile)

SmileFor me it will always be *GREG*!! Smile
