    Posting options missing?

Is anyone else finding the options for creating links, inputting smilies etc are missing when they create a post?

    Re: Posting options missing?

I know it takes a while for mine to load. As for the links, I need to highlight the text first and then I'm able to create the link (if that makes sense). The options aren't highlighted otherwise.

Larry are you trying to use the ones under options because you have to type those in - if you put the cursor over one you will see how to type it like [  6  ] when put together becomes Devil

     Hi Coolblue,

    Are you still have troubles?

When you say that "theyre not there" can you see the smiley button (last button on the second row)? Does anything happen when you click on it?

As for adding in links, you need to highlight what you want linked and then click on the button that looks like a paperclip (top row). A box should pop up and then just fill in the complete URL and you should be good to go.

If these two functions still aren't working for you, let me know and we'll figure something out.

    Re: Posting options missing?

Thanks for your reply Lindsay. There's nothing at all showing up at the top! No smiley, no paperclip... I can't figure it out. First I thought I may have removed the line by mistake using the "Remove It Permanently" extension in Firefox, so I tried a reply using Internet Explorer and they still weren't there!!!

That's odd. Can you look into something for me? Go into your profile and click on the "Site Options" tab. The third item on the list is called "Content Editor." It should be put to "Tiny MCE." If it's not on that option, put it to that option and then save your changes. You should then have access to all the same features that everyone else has.

    Re: Posting options missing?

Larry those options are on the page when you press reply, you come to a page that you write and just above where you're writing and just below the post previous is an area where it says "Message", that's where the paper clip and the smiley face are. They're not on the page that you're actually reading right now. Click on reply, and you'll see what I mean Smile

    Re: Posting options missing?

Thanks JAM, but Lindsay just found the culprit!

Those pesky Tiny MCE's, always causing trouble....Confused

    Thanks a lot Lindsay!

While we're at it, whenever I select the smiley icon, my window resizes to about 3 x 3 cm for some strange reason -- is this something with Firefox?  I haven't tried it in IE...

    Re: Posting options missing?

OK I just tried smileys in IE and had no problem - the smileys appeared in a small popup, but in Firefox, my whole window resizes, so mostly I just don't use them often...

It may have something to do with the way I have my tab and window options set... too many possibilities to experiment with them all!

    Thanks again

    Larry
