Hello,

I'm looking for someone who can help out with the Music News page. This person would be responsible for doing news twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday). This person would need to sum up 5-6 news items and then post them using our blogging software before noon on his/her assigned days. Once you get the hang of it, our blogging software is pretty easy to use and we already have two experienced news editors who will be on hand to help you out.

Usually when someone volunteers, they do so WITHOUT the expectation of receiving something in return.  At least, that is how I approach it.

But if I were to volunteer for this position, the benefits I would derive would be:  1- broadening my horizons, the main benefit of searching for information; 2- learning how to use blog software, and knowledge gained is always a plus; 3- sharpening my writing skills; 4- being a more integral part of a community that is a major part of my life.

I'm sure other folks could add to the above list.  Benefits of volunteering are in the eye of the volunteer.

The new Music Editor would also become part of the BlueRodeo.com Crew and would receive the special Crew icon that would appear on every board post that person made. Our Music and Daily News Editors are also thanked every now and then in the BlueRodeo.com newsletter and all news posts are made under the editor's member name so there is a certain level of public acknowledgement, something that some people out there might like.

You're welcome!  Believe me, if I had the time to volunteer for this, I would.  It sounds like fun.  If the board is still around when I plan to semi-retire (6 years from now if all goes well), I will volunteer for Crew positions.  I love that vinyl record icon!

We now have a new Music News editor. I'd like to welcome leftbrain to the Music News team. She's helped us out with updating the One Degree pages & I think she'll do a great job at helping keep the Music News page up-to-date.
