NHL: who looks better?
I'm already looking forward to the coming hockey season and out of boredom I got to wondering,is this coming year's playoff picture going to look any different from previous years? which teams have taken a big backwards step and, more interestingly, which also-rans look like they're ready to hit the big time? it seems like there's actually been very little movement this post-season. there really hasn't been ANYTHING to distract from the Jim Balsillie-Nashville Predators on-again, off-again rumours. it looks like the most predictable year of all coming up. the Rangers are a better team, and they ought to do well this year...catching Gomez and Drury was impressive and Lundqvist looks to be staying in goal....the Oilers have been all but written off (the only excitement coming from Souray's signing, and he's a purely offensive defenseman who won't add much to their woeful blueline)....meanwhile most of the league's perennial losers like Los Angeles, Columbus, Chicago and Florida really haven't done anything to shake up the bottom of the league, and neither the Sens nor the Ducks have added or lost much so it could be business as usual for both teams this year too. even the Leafs, who are always good for a laugh (kidding), have offered much to talk about....it's a wait-and-see game for them, I guess. I figure they'll wait to see how their rebuilding is going 25 games in before bringing in outside help.

Jeez HowlinWolf...when I saw your title my first impulse was to say Dennis Wideman! but I guess you were talking about the teams as a whole, eh? :)

I don't really follow hockey, everyone else in my family loves to watch it though. I just think it's very sad that Mark Bell, (who Toronto had to take in order to get the goalie that they wanted,) gets to wait till hockey is over in order to serve his jail time for his DUI. He's not even one of the huge names in the NHL. I don't get it.
