An NHL attendance record was set today for the outdoor Winter Classic in Buffalo, between the Pens and Sabres, with 71,217 braving the snowy, breezy weather.

The game was held at  Ralph Wilson Stadium (home of NFL Buffalo Bills).

Quite the extraordinarily unique sports event! Thanks for the link to the pics, Larry. 'Tis a shame that the Sabres lost, but the fan turn out in Buffalo today was very impressive. But Buffalo fans are a hearty bunch.
