So...did anyone watch last night? I'm curious about other people's thoughts. I've been undecided up to now. I think last night helped to narrow things down a bit. I don't necessarily have a definite decision, but I know definitely who I won't vote for. Interestingly, I thought last night was more like what debates should be, compared to some of the past "debates" which have been so planned and scripted. At least there was exchange between the candidates, at times, yes, debates, which I thought was helpful. And our local ABC affiliate cut away from Diane and George after the debate and let Dennis Kucinich have about 10 minutes of airtime which was great, even if it was only local, because he was not invited to the debate. Honestly, though, I can't wait until Wednesday. Then they'll all be gone for a little while...all that will be left will be the thousands upon thousands of political signs that they will have left behind in our snowbanks. Then we can stop screening our phone calls. Sometimes we get 5 or 6 phone calls a night, more if you count who calls during the day, and all sorts of people knocking on our doors, leaving literature. Ahhh....gotta love being the first in the nation primary. On the other hand...it is kind of neat to have so many of the candidates so accessible early on, when you can meet them at house parties, roundtable discussions, etc. And having college age children, it's really great to see them getting excited and involved in politics, in our own country and around the world.
