Olympic Swim Trials, Montreal Apr. 1 - 6/08 on CBC

    Olympic Swim Trials, Montreal Apr. 1 - 6/08 on CBC

    Canada's premier swim event takes place this week and there is coverage on TV!  This event started today and there will be taped summaries on CBC tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 pm for half an hour.  I will try to update details on coverage a little later.  Brent Hayden from good ol' Mission BC, will making a few appearances.  He tied for Gold at last year's World Championship in the 100 Freestyle.

    Tonight's Olympic trials coverage will start at 12 midnight.  I think it is being displaced from an earlier time by basketball which is a very fine sport in itself although I confess that I do not perceive a lack of coverage of that particular sport on television.  Tomorrow it's on at the same time so set your VCRs if you want to see some fast swimming.  Looks like there will be some live feed this weekend in the afternoon. (Hope there is no conflict with the Junos).

    There is coverage today and tomorrow starting at 2 pm and going till about 5 on CBC.  Quite a bit of excitement for this meet - they said that the stands were half-full for the warm-ups!  I have heard that swimming is the number one spectator sport in Australia - not sure if our friends from Auz could comment on that.

    Apparently coverage today starts at 4 pm on CBC TV although there may be additional coverage on radio-canada.ca 's website.  Enjoy. `````````
