Great news!  They are also up for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Video of the Year for C'mon.

Justin Rutledge and Oh Susanna are both up for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year: Solo.  The rest of the nominations can be found on the Juno website:

I believe the public can only vote for the Fan Choice Award.  The rest are voted on by members of CARAS.

Greg Keelor met Jim Cuddy and then I met you people. Serendipity is a marvellous thing.

    Re: JUNO AWARDS

Let's hope all these nominees clean up in their categories.  Who to choose between Susie and Justin though?  Perhaps a tie?  I've never seen a more deserving list of candidates than this in my life. Big Smile  ....wait ...did Lori Yates make the list?  She should be on there somewhere for Songs From the Book of Minerva.Surprise

I see that Glenn's other other group (meaning other than The Swallows) has been nominated too!  The er... "Holy" group...

I wonder if BR, The Sadies, Justin etc will be at the Juno's.  That would be sweet if they all wonYes  I think The Sadies have a very very GOOD chance Yes  Wish I was there to whistle, clap and cheer when all our fav's win that JunoBig Smile

I'm sure that Jim will be there so that means that BR might be there anyways, since Jim is usually doing the Juno Cup.

Hmmmmm, Mike Belitsky, and Sean Dean of The Sadies play hockey so there are two more candidates for the team, yoooooouuuuuuwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooo JIM, got you two more players Wink

I believe most if not all of the categories are based on sales.

Blue Rodeo up for Juno on Band Of The Year!

I'm sur emany people know this, but the the people who are oblivious to it (Liek I was til tonight), Blue Rodeo is up for band of the year. They are against Finger 11 and Hedley... Now I like Hedley a bit, but to me, I think thats not much of a challenge for the band.

    Wish them luck!

    Josh Dwyer

P.S: I have no clue when the Juno's are so if somone could tel me I'd be greatful (But I don't think its for a while now?)

    Re: JUNO AWARDS

The question of how these awards are conducted prompted me to look for some additional info and I discovered that  the awards are given out based on votes received from CARAS members.  It is possible to become a CARAS member and vote for JUNO nominations and awards but it is too late to become a member and cast a vote for this years candidates because there is a deadline of January 31/08.  Here's the link:

    Re: JUNO AWARDS

CARAS Membership for the 2007-08 year runs from August 1st 2007 to July 31st 2008 of the following year. Membership is non-transferable. The annual membership fee is: $50 plus GST ($53.00 total). You may register at any time.

You must be actively working in the Canadian music Industry to qualify for membership.

I wonder if moderating the BR board would fall under the "actively working in the Canadian music industry" status?Huh?
