    How sweet is Jim?

I just read this article about the Sens Foundation's President's Party.  What a caring and generous guy Jim is.  As is the whole band.

Here's another article about Jim from JAM! Music that also mentions Jim's recent charitable donations, among other things:

    Re: How sweet is Jim?

Actually, just within my relatively short time on the board, I can think of quite a few charities that Blue Rodeo and Jim have been involved with.

Let's see. Blue Rodeo did that big gala for Keyano College -- something like $25,000.  It's "induction" into the Royal Conservatory involved playing a charity gig. Now the $26,000 or so for this. (When did they do this "fundraising"? I didn't see anything at Malkin.)

Jim is involved in the Gilmour bowling thing every year. He works with MusiCan, a charity that supplies instruments to school kids. The Juno Cup is part of that. For years, he played Beachfest in Ottawa and I think that was a charity gig. During the Olympics, it was mentioned he's involved with a charity supports sports for kids.

    Anybody think of anything else?

Between Blue Rodeo, his growing solo career, and his charitable work, you have to wonder when he sleeps.

The Blue Rodeo show at the Horseshoe last December was for the Parkdale Food Bank (initiated by Bazil I believe). Their Blue Rodeo & Friends shows were also benefits for a few different charities - women's shelters, food banks, etc.
