Blue Rodeo at the Horseshoe!
One of Toronto's finest rock institutions, the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this month, with a series of blockbuster shows. One of countless bands that got their start at the Horseshoe, Blue Rodeo will return to the club's stage next Monday, Decemeber 17 for special celebratory show. Billed as an "80s throwback show," this is sure to be the event of the season.
Tickets go on sale next Monday at 1 pm, only at the venue, with all proceeds from the show will go to the St. Philips Food Bank. Rockin' for a good cause? Don't miss out.

2008 Tour Dates Now Up
We can finally tell you where Blue Rodeo's 2008 Small Miracles tour will be stopping. Kicking off on January 9 in Vancouver, BC, the tour will see the guys performing in 25 cities including Banff, AB; Saskatoon, SK; Cornwall, ON; Montreal, QC and Moncton, NB before wrapping things up at the end of Febuary with two Toronto shows at Massey Hall.

Blue Rodeo to appear on Canada AM on September 21
Set your PVRs folks! Blue Rodeo are set to appear on CTV's Canada AM on Friday, September 21. In honour of the band's appearance, the show will be broadcast live from Ottawa's By Ward Market, where they will perform a number of songs from the new album Small Miracles.

Blue Rodeo has been added to the BBC Radio 2 Showcase this Thursday, June 7 at Lee's Palace in Toronto. The band's set will be recorded for broadcast on the BBC's Bob Harris Saturday Show.

Blue Rodeo to Receive Fellowship from Royal Conservatory of Music
Congratulations Blue Rodeo! On May 22, the band will receive a fellowship for lasting contribution to the arts from Toronto's Royal Conservatory of Music. The band will receive this award at a special gala where they will perform before other Conservatory members. Previous recipients of this honour include the Tragically Hip, Bruce Cockburn and producer/songwriter David Foster.

Congratulations Jim Cuddy
On Friday night, Jim picked up the award Adult Alternative Album of the Year, beating such tough competition as Neil Young and Ron Sexsmith.

This Year's Songwriters' Circle to Feature Jim Cuddy
Jim Cuddy has been named as the host of this year's Junos Songwriters' Circle. Every year, the Songwriters' Circle gives ordinary people the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Canada's finest songwriters who share their stories and songs that made them famous during an afternoon concert. This year's Circle also feature Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Colin James and Susan Aglukark and takes place on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the Sid Buckwold Theatre in Saskatoon, SK.

Catch Jim Paying Tribute to Paul Simon this Thursday on CBC Television
Last summer, during the Montréal International Jazz Festival, Jim took part in a special concert entitled "A Tribute to Paul Simon." On Thursday, February 1, CBC Television will air a recording of that show that features Jim and other musical greats such as Elvis Costello, Colin James, Holly Cole and Daniel Lanois paying tribute to Paul Simon.. Catch it on your local CBC station at 9pm local time.

The Glorious Decline Makes CMJ's Top Ten List
We here at BlueRodeo.com want to congratulate Bob Egan on having his current solo record, The Glorious Decline, named as one of CMJ New Music's top ten albums of 2006. The music magazine's review of Bob's solo album, which also appears in the same issue, declares that the Glorious Decline "spreads his sonic repertoire out on the table, lays all its parts bare and dares the listener to have faith that the remaining eight tracks will follow through on the promise of its hypnotic nuance." Bob Egan To Help Out On New Great Lake Swimmers Album
