Reid Jamieson
Bio
Reid Jamieson's voice and engaging performances have been turning heads for several years. His former pop-rock band Alvy played around the Toronto music scene gathering a devoted audience and respect from peers. Their first release No Assembly Required (1994) was produced by Dave Bidini of the Rheostatics. Alvy went on to release 4 EP’s and one full-length album, Pop Shop (2000).
Since going solo, Reid has shared the stage with the likes of Blue Rodeo, Hayden, Molly Johnson and Skydiggers, as well as putting his musical abilities to use backing up Canadian talents like Bob Egan, The Swallows (with Glenn Milchem) and Bodega. Much like his inspirations (Neil Finn, The Beatles, Nick Lowe), his appeal spans generations and genres, allowing him to work with a variety of different artists.
Reid’s first solo album, Cowlick Bravado, independently released in November of 2001, was produced, performed and written entirely by Jamieson. This charming nine-song CD showcases a mixture of pop, folk, old country and rock and was most certainly a labour of love. Reid released The Noise In My Chest, a solo acoustic EP, at the launch of the new Maple Lounge in October, 2003.
