Small Miracles Update!

News about Small Miracles continues to trickle out: we can now announce the track sequence for the new album, due out on September 25.

In stores now, The Gift: A Tribute To Ian Tyson features the band’s recording of Tyson’s classic “Four Strong Winds”.

Catch Blue Rodeo and Friends On BBC2

On Thursday, June 7, Toronto’s Lee’s Palace saw some of Canada’s finest musical talent gather together to play at the NXNE music festival’s BBC Radio 2 showcase. Performers included Jim Bryson, Kathleen Edwards and of course Blue Rodeo.

If you wanted to be there but couldn’t be, be sure to listen to this week’s edition of BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris show as it will be airing highlights from this amazing showcase. Bob’s show broadcasts this Saturday, June 9, from 4am – 7am EDT and will be up on his webpage for listening to at your leisure for the next week.

Blue Rodeo at North By Northeast

Blue Rodeo has been added to the BBC Radio 2 Showcase this Thursday, June 7 at Lee’s Palace in Toronto. The band’s set will be recorded for broadcast on the BBC’s Bob Harris Saturday Show.

You’ll need a NXNE wristband to get in to the show. Wristbands sell for $28 and can be purchased either at the door or in advance. See NXNE.com for more information.

Blue Rodeo to Receive Fellowship from Royal Conservatory of Music

Congratulations Blue Rodeo! On May 22, the band will receive a fellowship for lasting contribution to the arts from Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music. The band will receive this award at a special gala where they will perform before other Conservatory members. Previous recipients of this honour include the Tragically Hip, Bruce Cockburn and producer/songwriter David Foster.

New Summer Tour Dates

The Jim Cuddy Band will be hitting the road this summer as the opening act for John Fogerty, songwriting wizard behind Creedence Clearwater Revival. Jim and company will be opening for John on the following dates:

  • July 18 – Ottawa, ON – Scotiabank Place
  • July 26 – Winnipeg, MB – MTS Centre
  • July 28 – Calgary, AB – Pengrowth Saddledome
  • July 29 – Edmonton, AB – Rexall Place Theatre
  • July 31 – Kelowna, BC – Prospera Place Theatre
  • August 1 – Victoria, BC – Save-On Food Memorial Centre
  • August 2 – Burnaby, BC – Deer Lake Park

Tickets for all shows will go on sale through Ticketmaster at 10am local time on Friday, April 20 with the exception of Calgary and Ottawa. Those two shows will go on sale on Saturday, April 21 at 10am local time through Ticketmaster.
