One of Toronto’s finest rock institutions, the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this month, with a series of blockbuster shows. One of countless bands that got their start at the Horseshoe, Blue Rodeo will return to the club’s stage next Monday, Decemeber 17 for special celebratory show. Billed as an “80s throwback show,” this is sure to be the event of the season.
Tickets go on sale next Monday at 1 pm, only at the venue, with all proceeds from the show will go to the St. Philips Food Bank. Rockin’ for a good cause? Don’t miss out.

Just announced: Blue Rodeo has added second nights to their stays in Vancouver and Hamilton on the upcoming 2008 Small Miracles tour. The Vancouver show has been lined up for January 11, with the Hamilton date confirmed for February 15.

Mark your calenders: This upcoming Monday, December 3 at 7 and 11 pm EST, CMT will air Blue Rodeo: Small Miracles, an hour-long concert special capturing Blue Rodeo in performance at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern. The program also features interviews with the band members and friends like Ron Sexsmith, Oh Susanna, Justin Rutledge, Luke Doucet, Jimmy Rankin and Carolyn Dawn Johnson.

Good news for U.S. fans. Hot on the heels of the Blue Rodeo & Friends tour, currently winding its way down the Eastern Seaboard, Small Miracles is now available in U.S. record stores. Released on the band’s own TeleSoul Records, digital music fans south of the border can now purchase Small Miracles through iTunes and other digital retailers as well.

Heads up Toronto fans! The rumours are true; Blue Rodeo will be performing a series of surprise shows in around downtown Toronto tomorrow, Monday, September 24.

Good news for fans who have embraced the digital download movement: Small Miracles is now available to pre-order from iTunes Canada. Everyone who buys the complete album from iTunes will recieve an exclusive bonus track: an acoustic recording of “Blue House,” while all pre-order customers will also be given an acoustic version of “This Town.”

Set your PVRs folks! Blue Rodeo are set to appear on CTV’s Canada AM on Friday, September 21. In honour of the band’s appearance, the show will be broadcast live from Ottawa’s By Ward Market, where they will perform a number of songs from the new album Small Miracles.
This is just the first in a number of exciting events planned, so keep your ears open for more announcements soon.
