Greg And Jim To Perform At After The Flood Benefit

June 21, 2013

“At the height of The Great Minden Flood, it took Blue Rodeo’s Greg Keelor only a moment’s reflection to agree to make music for those who lived through it.” — After The Flood benefit concert press release.

It didn’t take Jim Cuddy long to jump on board, either. What evolved from their decision is the After The Flood benefit concert, a fundraiser scheduled for August 3 in Kinmount, ON.

Minden, and the surrounding Haliburton Highlands, hold a special place in Greg’s heart, as they’re in the area that is his current retreat, as well as his boyhood summer cottage.

Proceeds from this show, which will feature a very rare duo performance by just Greg and Jim, will go to The Township of Minden Hills Flood Relief Fund and help undo more than $4 million worth of damages to homes and businesses in Minden. The pair will also be joined by some of Greg’s other musical friends, who’ll be announced in the coming weeks.

After The Flood will start just before dusk on August 3 and end under the stars at the Kinmount Fairgrounds. Tickets are available now from MadeInHaliburton.ca and will be available next week at Organic Times in Minden, Photo Shop in Haliburton, Gateway Variety in Kinmount, Moondance in Peterborough and Kent Bookstore in Lindsay. For more information, call 705-457-1009.

Jim To Perform At Benefit Concert

June 13, 2013

Jim will be headlining a very special event in Mulmur, ON, this summer. On August 16, Jim will be joined by friends like Bazil Donovan, Anne Lindsay, Devon Cuddy and Colin Cripps, as well as special guest, Jesse Cook, for the All-Star Jamboree at Lyric Pond.

The concert is in support of challenging inappropriate land use in Mulmur and Melancthon, a cause close to Jim’s heart, as evidenced by his participation in last year’s Soupstock to stop the Megaquarry.

Tickets for the Jamboree can be reserved by e-mail and include a buffet dinner.
