An Evening with Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor

BR_warChildWar Child Canada is excited to announce another exceptional night of music, An Evening with Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo, which will take place at The Dakota Tavern in Toronto on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.  This special night will be the third Dakota Nights for War Child benefit, a unique monthly concert series featuring very intimate performances by celebrated artists, hosted by The Dakota Tavern and War Child Canada.  All proceeds from these events will go to support War Child Canada, a registered charity that provides humanitarian assistance to war-affected children in some of the most devastated regions of the world. Tickets for An Evening with Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor are $50 and can be purchased at the door on the night of the show.

Twenty some years after the formation of Blue Rodeo, Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor are widely respected as one of Canada’s best songwriting teams. Since the release of their debut album Outskirts in March 1987, Blue Rodeo has established themselves as one of the most successful and well known contemporary bands in Canadian music history. Over the course of their stellar career, Blue Rodeo has released eleven studio albums, two live albums, a Greatest Hits collection and an award winning DVD, selling in excess of 4 million copies around the world.  Blue Rodeo has won numerous Canadian music awards, including eleven Juno Awards.

War Child Canada is an award-winning charity which provides opportunities and long term solutions for war-affected children, focusing on education, strengthening children’s rights, reducing poverty and fostering self reliance.  War Child Canada works in partnership with local people and organizations to build sustainable programming that empowers children and their communities. War Child Canada currently provides active support to communities in Afghanistan, Sudan (Darfur), Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and Georgia.
